While I agree I need to strengthen up front, I don't want to damage my back line to do it.

My assumption would be that you'd want another forward in return, and I'd give Cassano or Martinez if you wanted either. I don't really have the flexibility to give from any other position.

Yes, but equally my defence is based on Evans/Vidic working together and so far it's been a good tactic. Although in fairness Dante is probably better.

On balance the best I could do is beat his lawyers offer.

Other than that I could only shell out Cassano or Martinez in a swap. I was considering using one of the big guns but I've checked his TM value and it wouldn't be a smart move for me!
