Guerrero Calls out Marquez Pacquiao and Mayweather.
First topic message reminder :

Was very impressed by Guerrero performance against Katsidis and even though he has come up from featherweight he looked huge at lightweight.
He is now saying he will fight anyone at 140 or 147lbs but Marquez, Pacquiao and Mayweather at the top of his list.
How do you think he will do against these 3?
His mind has not been on boxing for the last couple of years, infact boxing came last because of his wife's leukemia but now focused we could see him develop into a superstar in the sport.

The Ghost is overated IMO. Decent fighter but not on the level of the likes of Manny or Floyd.

As a fighter Gurrerro continues to move from strength to strength. He could try unifying one or two of his Lightweight belts first, why not clean up the division. Vasquez and Rios look to be decent fighters, could turn out to be decent scraps. A match up versus Marquez would also be a interesting one, might plump for youth against age in that fight. Gurrero probably doesn't have the size to fight Pacquiao or Mayweather, welterweight may be beyond him.

Marquez definitely outboxed pacquiao in the first fight. He was caught cold by mannys speed in rd1 and it cost him big, but over the course of the bout he won more rounds than pacquiao, no question about that.

Thats like saying Birmingham had more penalties than Chelsea tonight. Pacquiao had 4 knockdowns, they are not minor things you know.

It's not like saying that at all, you have to look at the whole fight as well as the first round. The kd's aren't minor things but they all happened within a moments of each other in rd1. Marquez was clearly caught cold by mannys blinding speed, which he'd probably never experienced before. But after that he regrouped, didn't go down again and outboxed manny for the majority of the next 11 rounds. Manny was lucky Marquez had such a bad first as he'd have been on the wrong end of the decision without his big 1st round. It showed that at the time Marquez was a more accomplished technical boxer than manny, who was pretty wild. Manny has improved since, but I'd still say Marquez has better fundamentals, whereas manny has greater physical attributes such as natural speed and power.

Lucky?
Yeah knocking a guy down is lucky. Maybe if I fought a prime Mike Tyson I could get lucky and put him down 3 times in a round.

You'll twist any words to defect criticism from manny won't you D4?
Manny blitzed Marquez in rd1, good for him. Marquez outboxed manny for the majority of the remaining 11 rounds. Without detracting from the obvious amazing greatness of putting a guy on his backside 3 times in one round, it's clear that the first round kept manny in the fight, because if Marquez had fought that round like he fought the following 11 he'd have got the nod.
Wear your manny blinkers all you like, but any impartial observer can see what I'm saying.

Regardless of those 3KDs, I still had JMM well ahead. Robbery is too kind a word for that scoring.

Unsurprisingly, you're spot on Sugar Boy. Marquez got up and took the fight to Pacquiao. Sure, there were three knockdowns, but the fact they were all in close proximity and in round one suggests they were more as a result of Marquez being unprepared, rather than Pacquiao bulldozing his opponent. It's not like any of them were like the Hatton knockdowns. Anyone who can't understand that must be a bit divvy.

Balti/SBS spot on
Sadly our resident nuthugger has too much white stuff in his eyes
Wonder if i spell it out for him:
Manny scores 3 knockdowns
Marquez then boxes his head off
Marquez won more rounds by far as proof.
It's not exactly rocket science. Unless of course Marquez didn't win more rounds after the first and we're all imagining it.

Exactly. Perhaps if Pacquiao had SAVED some of those KDs for some of the other rounds Marquez WON, then he'd have won...
Let's be honest, Marquez taking a knockdown while he figures a guy out has become pretty much the norm. Didn't Katsidis say something to the effect? JMM's gone down more times than Paris Hilton, but usually that means he's gonna beat you.
