Here’s how it basically works.
You have a budget of 100m to purchase a squad with the following stipulations:

1. You MUST have a minimum of 6 players from the country designated to you.
2. You MUST have a minimum of 3 players that were born on or after 1st October 1991.
3. You CANNOT go over the squad limit of 25.

To buy your squad then you must make sealed bids for the players. How this works is that you check the value of the players on TM, the MINIMUM cost is what their value is on there, but you can bid more than that as others may wish to buy that player. The maximum value of a player that you can bid for is £12m although may wish to bid more than that in order to acquire him.
So for example;
Bull places a sealed bid of 875k for Paul Scholes as that is the TM value.
Viva places a sealed bid of 1m for Scholes as he thinks others may be bidding for him.

Viva therefore wins.

ALL squads are PM’d to myself and a designated neutral party (to ensure fairplay I will send my squad list first so it cannot be said I’ve gazumped anyone). I then reveal who has got which player in the first draft.
We continue the process until everyone has then spent up and we move onto the Star Player bid which works under the same principle although you have a budget of 25m + whatever remained from your normal bids for ONE player who has a value up to 25m

You don't have to spend the star player budget I don't think, but it limits you to only buying players below the 12m threshold in TPs

Technically, but we're in a lower quality league now. And there's constant rumours of him moving to Man City or Chelsea in January. Plus since then, Jovetic has scored quite a few goals.

I think Jovetic is rated just fine, but he would obviously smash the glass ceiling if he came to England.

With all the teams completed, I guess we can open up the market shortly.

I genuinely rate Kroos very highly. I think others will tell you I am not messing.

And Jovetic's keep growing by the day, each time he is linked to City or Chelsea it seems to go up a notch. I can't see a bad purchase in the star players. Some of us paid too much Sad, but no bad players

When one of the worst Star Players bought is Pedro, you know everyone's done well. Of course, some of us spent £10m more than we needed to...Laugh

When do TPs open? And how does it work? First-come, first-served? Or can we bid against each other?

First come first served, based solely on TM values. You have 2 TPs per week, and the max value is 12m.

It's 0.5m every week.

It's meant to be less than the last league because it ended up with less domestics and almost all TPs so we want to reverse the market. Cash will be more valuable this way too.

There's hardly anyone under £12m left that might be of interest, so I can't see many TPs for the first few weeks. Which will mean inter-league transfers won't really happen, which means things might get a touch dull. I'd suggest putting that at £14m, rising by £0.5m every week?

I would think the lack of TPs would make inter league deals more likely, just with players rather than cash changing hands.

If you look hard enough I think there is plenty of quality left under 12m.

I agree with Azzy. Everyone whos wanted under £12m is gone. 0.5m increments is fine.
Think TP should start at £13 or £14m. £14 could be a bit high though.

Well I personally I have hand picked and drafted my players in just to then do a deal with someone and get rid of them. So I know I wont be doing any swap deal for my main players.
Only one position im after and one only player will leave my squad as a swap for a player of that position.

Youe could always start TP's at £13m and say no rise in the limit for 2 gameweeks, then start a 0.5m rise on gameweek 3.
Just a suggestion

We've got 16 teams, each with c.18 players under £12m. That means 95% of all the worthwhile TPs will have already gone, with maybe the occasional missed player / new rising star.

There's a decent crop of £12-£13m players, and another good crop of £13-£14m players. Maybe keep it at £12m for two weeks, then raise it to £14m, then up by £0.5m each week thereafter?

I can't see any inter-league trades being made as no-one wants to lose the players they've carefully drafted.

I think Bull makes an intelligent point here. It would confer an advantage on those who didn't spend in the draft to be able to get 13m rated players, while those who drafted all their cash don't have that chance.

So that tips it to stick at 12m in my opinion.

Disagree.
Soddy, people knew TP would start in Gameweek 1. It was their choice to spend all their cash. Nobody said you have to spend it all. It was a manages own choice to save say £10m to add onto Star Player budget and have a total of £35m to bid with.
The ones who strategically spent their cash wisley shouldnt be penilised for that reason.

I'd like to see how, because TM's valuation of players is very odd and any upgrades I see to your team are coming from within the league or over £12m. The quality from under £12m is almost all gone.

Disagree completely. The stipulation from the beginning was always that 12m was the initial limit on TPs.

If we change it now, it would penalise the majority of managers who tried and successfully drafted a full team.
