No deal. The point was you wanted him and now I'd accept £10m for him, bearing in mind I have an £8m lawyers offer already, that £8m offer is better than Denis + £2.5m!

But I'm open to offers, make another one if you don't want to pay cash.

The first one is because I have no interest in another striker who won't play replacing an attacking midfielder, and no to the second one as it would leave me light in defence.

If Taarabt = £8.8m and VDV = £13m, the deal should be Taarabt + £4.2m = VDV.

How about: Adel Taarabt + Erik Pieters + £0.75m = VDV

Pieters can be lawyered, Pieters' lawyers offer would be £4.5m plus the last of the cash I have makes it £5.25m + Taarabt.

"To restrict buying purely to use in lawyers offers to boost your cash balance, the 3 players that you select yourself for lawyers offers must have been at your club for a minimum of 4 weeks."

It's to stop people signing cheap players to get the benefit of their high lawyer price. Like what happened last time, people would sign a player from releases for £2.85m, their TM value is £5.7m and the lawyers offer would be £7m. Easy profit, the new rule stops that.

As for Koscielny, Villa and Costa, neither would be worth losing with Taarabt to get Van Der Vaart IMO. I'd want VDV with the latter two, and Koscielny and Sakho are my new settled centre backs, i'd be mad to lose either.

What about:
Taarabt + Ashley Williams = VDV + Ciaran Clark

Would be an improvement on your CB options, Williams has been a beast for Swansea this season.

I've sold Taarabt to lawyers as £11m cash was too good to reject. However he'll be available at the start of Season 2 as he's been sold in Season 1, so you can get him as soon as the season starts for just £8.8m.

Assuming £32m will get him, that is a lot.

My two nominated lawyers would leave me with £26m or so, so raising the money wouldn't be an issue, but i'm not sure if I should spend so much on a winger right now when there would be some great options available much cheaper.

Lawyer him, if I can beat your offer I will, but if I can't you can still sell him.
