To win multiple slams, you need a serve that can bag you a lot of free points, ground game alone is not enough. Murray needs a more tricky serve to be able to win more than he has. Saying that his returns have been very accurate and will prove the key in this match.

3 double faults in a row from Roger to concede the break.

Wow. Has he ever done that before?

The second time I'm supporting Roger this year (FO semi as well), and he's playing sh!t.
Why does he do this to me? He must hate me.

Again Murray likes to play cross court too much, this tactic is eaten alive by Nadal and Federer. Down the line is more successful.

Sad

Blinking hek, supporting and watching Roger when he's making errors like that is agony.
Why can't he do what Nadal does and loop it really really high in the air to make sure he doesn't miss.

Federer's level has dropped here.

But Murray doesn't want to keep going forehand to forehand with him.

It may have improved big time, but not the point where it can out do Rogers!

Come to expect this rustyness in semi finals now. Roger has become the king at not bringing it in semis for some immoral reason.

ikr.

He does this whenever I support him. Also in FO 2012 semi, he was every other shot.

Murray has the break thanks to 3 DF's. Hell even Ferrer wouldn't choke with those gifts. Federer should of served under hand.

Rogers serve is a huge stinking mess. Look at him in 2005 2006 he nearly never got broken unless against Nadal, Nalbandian. The serve isfilled with doubt and slips away from him.

Today yes. In general I would not say so. I would say his serve is at least as good these days as it was in his prime.

LAUGHABLE.

The serve has been abseiling away from him since after he won the maiden french open. H needs ultra fast surface to have a chance against Murray anymore. Murray is a tougher match up for Roger than Novak ever was.

The returning of serve today is quite class. Federer's serve really needs a different angle to shake the game up.

I don't know, I still think there was a bit of gamesmanship there. If the score were different I think he would have reacted differently.

a 17 slam winner does not roll over so easily.. and yes maybe some gamesmanship, so bloody what? it is interesting to me to hear the commentary. Murray is suddenly the greatest thing since sunshine.

Yeah he was pretty cool and professional about it and I do not think he was really too stressed over it one way or another but I do think he did it with a bit of an ulterior motive.

Gamesmanship or not, could be a big momentum swing.

In both Wimbledon and the Olympics there were two mamouth long games just like that. The guy who came out of it won both finals.
