Federer plays 100 percent he wins, both players play 75 percent Murray wins.

Fed has clearly been the second best since midway through the first set, but he is still hanging in there.

You think so? I think Murray is playing closer to his own best than Fed, so hard to tell from this match. I would say if they both play at 75%, Fed still wins.CAS wrote:both players play 75 percent Murray wins.

Yeah I agree Murray is playing better than 75 percent and Federer is around 60 to be honest. I can't quite believe Federer is still in this match considering that

The match has hit a slight lull now.
This is where I can see Federer pouncing and changing the momentum.

Could not dig himself out this time. It will be hard to come back from this. He would need to up his game considerably to have a chance.
Some of Murray's returning has been just breath-taking.

He tries to play this aggressively against Rafa sometimes, he just doesn't do it as well.
Against Novak he mixes it up more. I think he thinks he can outlast Novak physically.
Murray has has 11 break points to Roger's 1.

Federer allowed him to play this way. Mugray will be back to his pushing self when against a player with unreadable serves, good rallying, no lazy strokes etc.CAS wrote:Murray only plays this aggressively against Federer I swear

An awful display from Fed so far.
Murray has been pretty good though, especially on the return.

The 3-DFs-in-a-row was a clear indication of a bad day at the office.
I do not want him to break his racquet though. Just play calm and steady. Annacone needs to chastise him.

Surely it is unfair to let fans wait for maybe 30 minutes and then wrap up the match in one game. Andy should understand this and let Roger back into it.

Re: Shanghai Thread
Murray has served better and returned better all match. That's what it has come down to. Federer has battled well to save a number of those points.
Murray has really aggressively attacked the Federer serve, mixed up his own serve, and played both aggressive and occasionally loopy balls to the Federer backhand....
But If someone asked me what Federer's gameplan was, I'm not sure I'd know how to answer.

Hmm, not sure about that. A great champion like Federer not bothered about a match against one of his biggest rivals?
Not for me. I've always said that whenever the top 4 meet each other, it always matters.

All his fans have paid expensive tickets to cheer him on, and he's just turned up to create some good stats, not caring for the tournament or his fans.
I don't think that's true though, Murray's just returning too well, Federer's not been at his best.

Well played Murray.
Paris, Basel for Federer.
Goodall-Koenig think it was a high-quality match despite the challenges. I tend to agree with them.
