Hershey, thanks, but we're quite capable of starting our own threads tbh - there's even one already going about our trip to Dublin Chief

I think the Chiefs can cause an upset against Leinster, but then again it wouldn't really be an upset as the Chiefs are a solid unit that are deservedly in the HC. (unlike some other teams)

Leinster has an injury list as long as the Irish Governments credit card statement or so we're lead to believe. Whatever the outcome I'm sure the Chiefs will do the West Country proud.

Of course you are, I never doubted it but these types of threads are more than just one event and offer fans a great place to catch up on a weekend’s action without jumping between threads and as an Exe fan I thought we needed one.

Embrace it, as other clubs have.

Well, obviously wish the Exeter team and supporters a happy time in Dublin.

They'll be well looked after, well watered and well beaten................ nah, I'm only joking about the first two parts of that Wink

No, seriously!! You're right Hersh, Leinster could be in their flatter-to-deceive period - the operative word being 'flat'. They're not as buoyant as they'd hoped to have been at this point, they're certainly beatable and it's a tall ask going for the record they're going for this year.

Exeter though - well, THIS is the moment, and the following games, when they prove that they 'deserve' to be in the HC. It's only when you're in it that you can prove you deserve to be there - as Edinburgh did last year.

That's the beauty of HC - you never know who deserves it until it's happening. Have a good time, Exeter

Anyone else think Sandy Park deserved to have a chance of hosting a RWC game in 2015?

Would have been nice Hersh. Good transport links, newly redeveloped stands by then. Huge rugby heartland. As it is i think South Westerners will have the furthest to travel of any fans to see a game. I could be wrong but it feels that way!

Aston gate thumbsdown or Castle Grim. vomit

Very disappointed in the RFU for choosing to line the pockets of Football clubs.

Great effort from the Chiefs yesterday but I can't help but be disappointed we should have at least drew that match.

Not having the ref as an excuse, no chance!

Great performance from Exeter but IMO one I expected. Leinster have been shaky with a huge injury list, and probably the best time to play them, but Exeter are probably my fav English team and Leinster are not going to look forward to the return trip!!!

not an excuse, an observation ... Leinster are my favourite Irish team and Exeter are probably my 2nd favourite English team but I think they were hard done by on several occasions ...

Ref was awful to both teams in equal measure. Exeter lost because they didn't convert their penalties when they had the chance. Still a very good display by the Chiefs and Leinster showed a glimpse of their championship form in the second half. For a tryless affair i was gripped for the whole 80 minutes.

As a neutral I still felt Chiefs didn't get the rub of the green as did many of the Sky commentators/pundits but these things are often subjective and I totally respect how fair you are as a Chiefs fan - I think the fans are one of the reasons Chiefs are my 2nd favourite English team

Clermont put their foot on the accelerator in the 2nd half. Superb display of pacy, offloading rugby. 13 internationals vs 2, etc etc.

I only managed to see the 1st half, so I was a little shocked to see the result.

I can imagine!

With Baxter in the bin at the start of the 2nd half Clermont really put the hammer down. They got a bit lucky with one try (foot clearly on the sideline on replay which meant Parra got booed as he lined up the conversion), but OTOH they were probably denied a good try in the 1st half.

The Chiefs kept trying until the end, they just ran up against a top team in form.
