May he Rest in Peace.
Kevin was a seam bolwing allrounder...that Zim had been blessed with quite a few in their good days......
and he had his moments under the sun...with what was a competitive Zimbabwe side in mid 1980s world cups

Shocking and very sad news.
Kevin Curran was a whole hearted and fine cricketer who gave good service to his English counties as well as his native Zimbabwe.
A first class bowling average of under 28 with over 600 wickets from 324 matches plus a batting average of nearly 37 confirm his splendid contribution to our game.

Sad news indeed, thoughts are with his family. Seems he was a fine cricketer, and many are suggesting he would have been well at home in amongst todays T20 trend.
Re: Kevin Curran R.I.P
Shocking news. I remember watching him on the TV as a kid (when BBC Sunday grandstand showed the Sunday League cricket throughout the summer). Was a very good solid professional player.
Am I right to recall he was the guy that bowled and threw the ball with different hands? Surely the very definition of ambidextrous.

He was a cracking player - hard hitting batsman and aggressive seam bowler. Went past 1,000 runs 5 times in the English Summer and in both First clas and One day cricket his batting average was higher than his bowling.
53 is very young
