Think on that one for a while.

I'm giving this Samsung one last day to show it can work without switching itself off. If it can't do it, I'm chopping it.

Sod - you should try the iPhone. It never switches itself off.

I'm wondering if I've enabled some sort of setting that makes the phone switch off. Or maybe I've got an app that does it. I can imagine a million situations where someone really needs their phone to just switch itself off randomly, and then not be able to be turned on again.

Not dropped it, and I haven't caused any internal damage. I was very gentle on entry.

I downloaded a few apps; NFL Fantasy, GamePass, Facebook, Wiki, ESPN Goals and that was about it - all are on my HTC and although that has many flaws, it's never simultaneously crashed and phoned someone I didn't want to talk to, and then had to.

It worked fine up until I got home and enabled the wifi and since then it's been temperamental and switches itself off if I have it in my pocket for more than about 10 minutes.

I have a simple fix, but it involves a hammer. And I want to get a replacement so I won't be doing that.

Ive just got an InForm Ivanovia & Kolerov on my UT. anyway want to buy them?

Hey, it's not my fault, I didn't manufacture the phone. I just took it out of the box and it's getting uppity.

I've reset the whole thing back to factory settings, so it now officially has the rest of the evening to not do anything irritating.

I was only wumming you expecting the usual pro-Android/Samsung outpouring. You know full well I prefer Android, but have recently started using iPhone for convenience and the fact my Android phone is pants.

If it's messing about give it back to them and demand a new one. If it's messing about from the day you got it then I'd say there is something wrong with the phone.

I get all my package paid for by work. Only they give crap old Nokia's so I was reusing my old Android phone. As that was crap, getting someones old iPhone to stick my SIM in is perfect and still free.

In fairness Hero, I much prefer to the Android operating system, but that is what I am used to. Having used both recently, I can honestly say that although I would rather have stuck with Android, to say iPhone is more rigid and less usable than Android is a load of bull and sounds like someone who has been reading to much Android propoganda.

Give me Android any day of the week, but only because it suits me, not because the iPhone is rigid.

I've used both Apple and Android stuff, and it makes pretty much no difference to me what I use.

The main thing that bothers me about the Samsung Galaxy is that I have to click to another page to get commas. And even though I could text like a spaz and no-one would care, it bothers me.

That's kind of my point. iPhone users claim the iPhone OS is better, Android claim the Android one is. The reality is that they are not that different.

Oh god here he is anti android, Apple Fanboy didn't take you long. Are you going to purposley ignore the thousands of Iphone 5 which have failed and sent back to Apple. Like I said earlier Apple have a higher failure rate then Android. Sodhat may have picked up a wrong Samsung it happens but it's not as common as Iphone messing up.

I have used Iphones and Android, I have even owned both devices mobiles, Ipods, tablets etc. An it is clear to see that Iphone suffocate users from using the device to its maximum capability. Why is it that Apple only allowed you to download their own apps? It was only till they realised people would jailbreak the phone that they allowed third party apps to be sold on App store but not without Apple taking a big fat chunk of the profit.

Why don't Apple let us customise how we use the main page of the phone, moving the apps around to suit us, they limit usage to the hardware so we can only do what they tell us to. Answer me this why do people by Ipads, Ipods, Iphones and Apple TV and then jailbreak it? Because it's a well known fact that Apple keep you locked in hence the name jailbreak.

Viva's argument is that Apple only let you download certain Apps etc, whilst Android is not restricted.

What he fails to mention is that Apple offer nearly twice as many Apps as Google Play, and while other Apps not on Google Play can be downloaded, they do not work on all Android phones. It costs a lot to develop an Android App as it needs to be compatible to so many different types of phone. Overall it is much of a muchness.

It basically says Android doesn't restrict, Apple does, but the window that Apple restricts you too is so much wider that it really is no different between them. I think it almost went iPhone for all of them apart of screensize, which for me actually puts me off the Samsung

Because the latter is proving to be the downfall of Android with many developers stopping from developing for Android because of the expectation that is has to be free. It is just not worth their while and stuff will soon be on iphone but not on Android (see the report I posted)

No Apple don't let you do what you want to do only what they want you to do, the apps were just an example but we can go into that if you like.

Afro I've heard that crappy excuse a million times "Oh we have more apps wah wah wah" yes but lets be honest how many of them will you use? I've been through the app store and majority of them are bogus crap apps that don't do nothing. Anyway why would I want to get an app when I can easily get something better through Android and I'm not talking about Google Play

I don't know what anti Android website you went on they are bound to say that, Android blow the Iphone out the market and you know what makes my blood boil. When Apple come out and say we desgined the Siri we made the first tablet but how is that true when Android had thier own version of Siri 6 months before Iphone did. My phone has S Voice, update Twitter and Facebook and may more things through that but we know its a gimmick that will impress the mindless Zombies so Android didn't use that as a selling point because they have al ot more better features.

Yes I know and its called rooting but the difference between a jailbroke Iphone and non jailbroke is massive compared to a rooted Android an none rooted Android. I bet you I can do 90% of the features on my phone that a rooted Samsung S3 can do.

Mr Afro we don't need to use Google Play or the Play Store to get what we want which I've been trying to tell you. They could block the Google Play and we still find a way to get what we want because Android do not restrict us. Do you get what Im saying? We have option A, B, C etc Apple only have option A and if they don't like it well you're stuck with it.
