First topic message reminder :

Afternoon Everyone,

Just to make those of you who still post over the road aware...

606 closure date annouced.

The 606 website will shut down on 26th May 2011 - the shut down came about in order to focus audience's attention interactivity by capturing the conversation around the biggest sports stories and events via different mediums. We would like to thank the current 606 users for all their posts and comments over the years. It is worth stressing that the 606 radio show on 5 Live will continue - and we are considering ways for the audience to interact with 606 on the 5 Live website, focused around the radio programme.

It's ironic that they intend to keep the site up as an archive when one of the arguments for closing it was the cost of maintaining it... Surely deleting it would be far more economical. Doh

It just shows how false their reasons were if they don't follow it through completely.

If it's closing "during the morning" does that mean it'll suddnely close? will there be a countdown? A warning? You could be in the middle of a discussion and suddnely not be able to finish your sente...

Can I ask everyone to keep an eye on 606 and do what they can to advertise v2 where appropriate OK

Stick to the boards where you are known and can influence.

It seemed perfectly normal this morning. There was a rumour on the soccer boards that it wasn't to shut until december. Perhaps they've forgot it's supposed to be shut.
