What you hope to see for 2013?
As the title says, what would you like to see happen in 2013? Anything (realistic) can be put forward (I'm sure some banter could be exchanged here). Note my favourite players are Murray, Federer, Hewitt, Azarenka & Sharapova so some will involve them.
A healthy Nadal (and ATP & WTA tours in general).
Murray to win Wimbledon beating Nadal in SF and Federer in Final (and improve overall H2H against Nadal).
Federer to beat Nadal to win French Open.
Azarenka to beat Serena Williams to win Wimbledon (and improve H2H overall against Serena).
Sharapova to improve overall H2H against Serena.
Azarenka & Sharapova to become the big rivalry in Women's tennis (Serena OWNS them at the moment so both of them beating her elevates them).
Safin to return (would love that).
Hewitt to have a steady year, maybe beat one of big 4 in a smaller tournament.
Masters 1000's and WTF Final to return to best of 5 sets.
Top seed's receiving byes in all 250's and 500's.

Re: What you hope to see for 2013?
- Djokovic to win FO and complete the career slam.
- Rafa to come back healthy so we have a top 4, which stops one side of slam draws being loads easier.
- Del Potro to re-emerge as a genuine title challenger.
- The BBC website to produce a tennis article without factual errors and a vapid title.
- Azarenka to stop screeching so I feel less guilty about finding her really attractive!

Re: What you hope to see for 2013?
My hopes for 2013:
Nadal to come back strong for the good of competition at the top
Djokovic to win French Open
Federer to hang in there for at least another season and continue to compete with the best
New young talent to make a proper breakthrough
Less rain delays at Wimbledon
US open director to commence building a roof over Arthur Ashe
Murray and Djokovic to produce some more memorable encounters
Djokovic to throw in a few more magical match point saves and go on to win
Del Potro to get back competing for slams
Tsonga to become more consistent
Nalbandian to give it one last go before retirement winning a big title and avoid injuring linesmen in the process
Azarenka and Sharapova to pipe down on the grunting front
Somebody to pick up where Safin and Gonzalez left off and break some rackets in spectacular fashion but not get as carried away as Baghdatis
An Irishman to pick up where Niland and Sorenson left off and qualify for a Grand slam main singles draw and maybe one day get an ATP tournament played on the emerald isle
That is all !

A permanent change to the top 4, where 2 of them drop down the rankings, to be replaced by newer faces. And world peace.

Re: What you hope to see for 2013?
A surprise young player (young defined as under 20) to appear in the top 15 and beat some top players.
Two Slams won outside of Fedalovicy.
Wimbledon to decare an intention to be the fastest Slam.
Peace on Earth, or if I want to be really ambitious, Peace on 606v2.

Re: What you hope to see for 2013?
My wishlist for tennis in 2013:
-Djokovic gets the french and at least one more slam to finish as year end #1
-Murray wins his second slam
-Nadal comes back healthy and can compete at the highest levels
-Federer keeps playing well and showing the young guys how it is done and stays in the top 5
-Del Potro makes a move and starts beating the top 4 guys in some big matches
-Raonic qualifies for the year end and moves into top 8
-Harrison breaks into the top 20 for year end rankings
-Soderling comes back what happened to him
-Donald young wins two straight matches on tour
-ESPN stops covering tennis tournaments goes back to televising hicks chopping wood and fat people stuffing themselves with processed meat and leaves the serious business of broadcasting tennis to the tennis channel

If you have actually had the misfortune of having to watch Espn US arm broadcast tennis you will really know what misery entails. First off the williams sisters are going to be televised no matter what and they take up about 80 percent of the broadcast window, then its everyone else. I nearly went postal when they abridged a masters semi recently in order to show 12 year olds playing baseball. I would happily let one of those porky children hit me in the face with one of their metal baseball bats if it would mean that ESPN would never involve itself in the broadcast of televised tennis match ever again. Memo to ESPN just because you self important A holes decide to cover something it doesn't mean it is a sport. They actually buy a great deal of events just so Fox or tennis channel can't show them, then they just don't telecast any of the hours of tennis they have paid for in order to show made up sports. And on top of that they hire a multimillion dollar team of annoucers who actually are very good and then pay them to cover the event, although they aren't going to show any of it. Not to mention the constant stream of scores, updates, and commercials that rain down on the screen if you happen to watch anything on their network.
A terrible evil entity ESPN and the fact that they think they invented sports coverage is highly annoying. I laugh when you guys complain about the BBC or Sky, I wish ESPN would cover all your sports for you like they do ours over here. ESPN is proof that in today's idiot marketplace shiny graphics and special effects make up for a complete lack of substance.

We must give him credit for doing something which many pros never manage even once : actually making the Final of a tour level event, finishing R/U to Andy Murray at Bangkok 2011. But it's all been downhill ever since .....
Meanwhile with a ranking of 175 he continues to excel at persuading organisers to hand him wildcards like they're going out of fashion. : 27 so far, and top of the table. Would love to know his secret

Re: What you hope to see for 2013?
Murray to win Wimbledon.
More Murray v Djokovic classics.
Rafa to get back to his best.
Roger to maintain his 2012 form.
Watson and Robson to break into the WTA top 20.
Hawkeye to stop writing Murray articles.
One of the young British lads to give us hope for life after Murray.
Rusedski to retire from commentating.

Danny_1982 - excellent sentiments although I'm easy about anyone (Hawkeye) writing about anything. As someone once said you should try everything in life except incest and Morris Dancing and (in Greg's case) commentating.

Re: What you hope to see for 2013?
What I would really like NOT to see again EVER in my lifetime is that dreadful Turkish Airlines advert with Wozniacki. Stuffing your face with crappy airline food has nothing to do with playing tennis. Honestly it's either that or plasters for her corns. Yuk!
Regarding things I'd like to see howzabout Boggo qualifying for then winning a round at Wimbledon?
Also Oli Golding getting his act together and making a realistic challenge to be British no.2 so there's life after Murray.
Ditto Cas re Dimitov winning a masters and making a slam semi (he has the game to do it)

Re: What you hope to see for 2013?
I don't know about Dimitrov I am just not sold on him I think he is very, very far from being able to come out on top in a masters field. Good luck to him I would love to see it, but I just don't see him as a future dominant player. Raonic on the other hand I could see winning something like Paris next year or even Canada in the near future. I like his chances at the USO and Wimby eventually to really compete for slams if injuries permit.
