Fair enough...but just never repeat it to an American.
I think the cultures are similar, but if anything ours is changing to theirs more than the other way around.

Romney held a fundraiser for the recovery fund - hardly political. So get your facts right
And what's wrong with caring for the rich, the top 2% of American earners pay for nearly 30% of the country already.
Well it must be a struggle when 47% of the country doesn't pay tax, according to Mitt

I think he said 'are dependent on the state', which means some of them might pay tax...but who cares, the guy hates poor people. And let's face it, who doesn't? Poor people drag everyone down, let's pack them all off to colonise Mars and have us richies in the majority for a change

All these Obama-lovers cannot point to one single decision / policy he's introduced that has been good for America. He's been a massive failure, if you judge him by his 2008 promises against his 2012 results. Bush at least had a war to finish - what's left for Obama to finish? People's livelihoods?

At least it's forthright.
Talking of Mars, I was watching Total Recall the other day. The old one, with Arnie. Now that's a classic.
If we sent them to Mars would we be able to bring attractive ones with three knockers back?

What was he supposed to do? Obama got a free ride from the hurricane as all he had to do was follow procedure and look like he was in charge.

Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVII
I wish I was watching the Gaston song! I may do now.
My mate came home and went into his room and drank all the booze because of some girl issues. I had to make him food, wrestle the booze away, get him water and put him to bed.
I then also hid the knives. Partly for him, and partly because I don't want to be stabbed in drunken confusion.
He thought tomorrow was the weekend he was that smashed

Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVII
From earlier I just want to say I have made the decision to give the league up. I've simply grown bored of it tbh and wanted to do something different with the style of my team from the 4-2-3-1 and went with what Bilbao have in real life shown to be an exciting and attacking formation only to have it derided as 'completely ridiculous' was pretty much the final straw so its adios from me. Good luck everyone.

Okay guys this is getting out of hand. Zebs gives up on tactics, Nadz and Twist quit, and now Hero.
Hero, that was one comment. I love that formation. You're coming up against some excellent teams in that Spanish Group, so you may not win every game. Perhaps Marky can provide you with the name of the person that wrote that comment, and we can speak with them? Because the only ridiculous thing is calling the formation ridiculous, not you playing it.

Hero, i sincerely hope you don't quit. Feedback can be frustrating, but it was only one comment on it.

If I died I'd still lose my voting bonus and get a goal deductedAmy wrote:So why did he get punished? Sorry He doesnt understand why as he said at end of last week he proberly wouldnt be able to vote
The problem we have is that if we let Tooze off, all the rest of us have to do is say if we don't fancy voting etc is 'oh, I can't do anything this week, I'm on a course', and if we don't lose out somehow then there's no benefit to those who are still here voting and handing in tactics.
He does still get the £1m participation bonus

Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVII
Moleicester City 1-0 Alan Partridge
(Cazorla)
Votes: 2-1, 2-2, 0-1, 1-2, 2-1, 1-0, 3-1, 3-1, 2-1 = 16-10 = 2-1 (minus 1 goal each for non voting)
A fascinating game. I don't think that playing three at the back works unless you have two wide midfielders who can defend which they haven't done. However, the Partridges do not have the right balance to their midfield and should have man-marked or made a special arrangement to deal with Cazorla.
The team talk let City down, the manager has no respect for the cup and it showed in his teams performance. Partridge were hardly great themselves but they showed more guts and desire to win them the game.
Mole are short handed at the back I think. With AP coming down the wings and having two up front, there is a chance they will outnumber the Mole men, and I reckon they will plunder a win. Mole were also short of a defensive mind in the middle. I can see them scoring with their strikers though, but not enough to snatch it.
I really like the front 7 players of Moleicester and I think they took all the stopping in this game. They might need a bit extra against stronger midfields, but I felt that Ahaaaaa lacked in this department and couldn’t get a hold of the game at all
MC broke the deadlock to allow them a win late on.
Cazorla the difference, Tooze needs to move away from 4-4-2
Nando is really open at the back with those wingers, but Tooze doesn't really have the quality to exploit it. In return Nando has too much going forward.
And then From Rules
If there is a valid reason as to why you cannot provide tactics or votes on time then this must be informed to the league runner as soon as possible.

Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVII
The fairness lies in the sanctions though soddy - we all appreciate knowing who is off / unable to vote etc, but what;s a valid excuse?
"I'm on a course"
"My wife just gave birth"
"I'm on holiday"
"My internet was down"
"I went to see Skyfall instead"
There can either be any excuse or no excuse. Or a compromise - why can't we allow people - in exceptional circumstances - to vote with just scores, no explanations, which means you can do it on your phone in 5mins?

Good suggestion Azzy. It will be something to consider.
Tooze - i will have to consult with Afro and the others first, i can't make the decision before that. I would say that you should probably get the goal back. But don't hang me if you don't...

Hey hey hey, hope everyone is well,
Sorry i wasn't able to vote (and for the lack of online presence) but I'm struggling for time at the moment, have just done a plan for the next 6 weeks of my life (and it's depressing) but I'll be back on form for the rest of the season!

Okay everyone, morning recap:
Hero has quit
Nadz's team is still without a manager
Tooze is unhappy because he was on a course last week and this week and doesn't think he should be penalised for that
Russ is depressed
Arsenal and City are rubbish
Obama is a lucky man

You can add:
Cherries has agreed to take a team
I'm assuming it will be Nads' team. Haven't seen or heard from Hero since last night so I guess his team is still vacant too.

It was just an oversight as it is very difficult to keep track of all the posts and everything that is going on (especially when it has essentially been me and Sod for a week or so).
Tooze will have his goal reinstated because he let us know in plenty of time, we just forgot to mention it to Marky yesterday. He does not get the £1.5m extra though, just the £1m taking part bonus
