where does it end ?
http://m.smh.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/deans-calls-for-super-player-rotation-20121106-28vzw.html
Unions having centralised control and reduced the top tier to their trials sides repackaged under geographical names now want them to players to play even less in order for the priority of Test rugby.
Rugby is in danger of losing sight (never mind touch with) the roots of the game in order to chase national success to fund their top heavy structures.
Presumably the ultimate goal will be to just have trials sides better known as franchises to just play a dozen games in order for selected players to play another dozen games for the national side. It is getting ridiculous. Perfect.

What happens top heavy things? They fall over. Its important to have solid foundations. Over time I think things will balance out.

Of course Deans is wrong here: "It's not just the international side, it's the franchises that are thriving"
In our case, nope, the International side is not thriving. So.... maybe the plan needs more thought and more modifications to work perfectly!!!
