The closest game of the round for me, look at all those 1-1 draws! See you on the flip side boxing

Am hoping that my new signings of Debuchy, Ba and Caulker help lift my team Euro Division Homepage XXXVIII - Page 14 3559488474

To all those people that said I missed Pirlo, look at my tactics. How creative can a long punt up to my strikers be?

Well done Gregers

Love the set up from Zidane, three strong midfielders feeding an awesome speed machine of an attack, cannot give the forward line enough superlatives really.
Yeah Shocked , well thank you who ever that was.

but for me I wouldnt use the formation again
it is a system that can work, but needs time for it to work to its full effect
very clever formation that really plays to their strengths .
Its clear people have different opinions on this formation, im kinda stuck as to carry on with it or not. Lack of width was mentioned, im a bit confused as I had Zaha & Pedro providing width but also cutting in at times, so yeah they were mixing their play up but was there not width?

I think I said Zidane that the other side you were facing could abuse you down the wings with that formation, which is personally why I think you would be better off using a different formation OK

I thought I'd misread it when I saw Olly had benched Pirlo! It may have been triggered by some feedback, but it was very odd to drop his best midfielder. Especially against one of the best sides in the league in Chorizo. Although I do feel Chorizo were vulnerable in the middle, Bunga Bunga wasted the chance to exploit it by having no creativity at CM. Chorizo win 3-1. < Please read and comprehend my tactics next time. Pirlo didn't fit my gameplan.

Bunga Bunga FC 0-2 Deportizo Chorizo
-----------------------Tello
-----------------------Isco
Don't think this formation worked for Bunga, FB were playing in a 5 man defence meaning they had a lot of distance to cover getting forward and the lack of attacking support for them made it hard for them to give much service. Chorizo midfield got grips into the middle which kept Bunga midfielders chasing them allowing Deportivo to use the wide men. Pirlo should have started. < Like I said above

Deportivo 3-0 Bunga - Bunga have set up to play the long ball game unfortunately with their formation and the other sides tactics i don't think they will see enough of the ball to be a threat in this game leading to an easy win for Deportivo through their wingers < Fair enough
Bunga Bunga FC 0-1 Deportizo Chorizo
None - Soldado
In an attempt to predict the oppositions game la Chorizo got some part wrong, luckily for them it didnt matter too much. Bunga Bunga just missed that extra bit attacking, at times the strikers needed more support. I dont feel la Chorizo's attacking width was dealt with by Bunga Bunga, Soldado nods one home to give the away team a vital win. Bunga Bunga's substitutions had a positive impact but they weren’t able to make that decisive break through with the amount of time left. < Fair enough

Imagine Pirlo sitting deep and firing accurate long balls towards big targets like Crouch though...that could be a vote winner.

Noble can

Diame might send it out of the ground more often than not

I like Yacob, I assume he can

Pirlo is probably the best passer in the game (unless you listen to Afro, who will swear blind it's Verratti), so if you wanted to mix it up he could be a useful weapon as a "quarterback" type

Just my opinion though. I actually didn't give you a loss on your tactics, because I love filthy football these days.

Whoa whoa whoa!

Mark "Slide Tackle" Noble will put all his effort into sliding in and fouling people, Pirlo probably wouldn't. He isn't a natural athlete as such, but he will get his shorts dirty for you.

That sounds gay.

The team need to play in that formation a bit to get better at it. It requires a lot of discipline and understanding of what others around you are going to do. It's one that will be better each time it is played. I am not going to expect you to have to play it for 10 weeks, but 2 or 3 more times.

Even Bielsa fazed it in slowly, for both Chile and Bilbao.

Olly, Pirlo's position is a DM. To drop him for Diame/Noble/Yacob is a silly thing IMO as Pirlo's passing game is one of the highest rated passing games in this league. Even if he didn't 100% fit your masterplan, you make your masterplan fit around the quality players you possess.

Admittedly I dropped Scholes for a similar reason, but I also had width and creative AM's ahead of my midfield.

Anyone interested in Tymoshchuk?

I was tempted by a £4m offer but I'd want a bit more, considering he's still performing at International level and in the Bayern Munich squad.

Either Tymoshchuk or Coquelin can leave for £5m.
