I think the point is more to cash in if he isn't going to fit what you want to do.

Of course he does. Because he is a very good passer of the ball people seem to ignore his defensive qualities, he may not be an all action man like Toure but he is very good defensively he picks up his man, he jockeys and he puts in tackles.
Its a bit like Vieira people only seen him as a big, strong athletic defensive player but he knew how to play the ball, one of the finest midfielders ever in the prem.
Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVIII
Olly, i'll happily do a deal with you regarding Pirlo.
As for basing ratings on Euro 2012, it was only a few months ago, when was the last time you saw an entire game featuring Pirlo?

That's fair enough. What was it that Noble brought, that you thought Pirlo couldn't?

Hardly ever. I will gladly admit I don't watch any football outside of England very often.

It could be 2025 and Bonucci would still be better than Howedes
Bonucci could have one eye and still be better, in my book.
As for 2004, I think you're mistaken. I have Beckham and Giggs, we're going for 1995 vintage

Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVIII
Marky, £15m is a banging price for a striker who has pace & can score from outside & inside the box.To be honest ZZZ, £15m is too much for Defoe. Hence his lawyers offer is £11m.
He's a good player, but not worth £15m. If you considered lower bids you'd get a better response.
£11m lawyers is based off a TM price + a bit more. Its tempting but I say £15m BUY NOW as that is a defo sale price I will let him go for.
If you added him to your forwards Marky you would clearly have 3 of the best in the league.

The less than great Gary Johnson used to say that he is another club in the bag. Gives you options to do different things against different teams, rather than just having a Plan A

The tenacity, the fight, the athleticism. He also brought a surprise on Gregers who was preparing for a player who didnt play

They'd be 37 and 38, so presumably you'd have both by then

I was the one that credited Olly with his selection. For me, his team surprised the opponent, who were not prepared for a physical battle, but instead for a flair fight. His team's doggedness paid off.

Leon Barnett was one of the worst Albion CBs of the last decade. And we've had a few.

Yeah Mat said that too. But for us he has been alright actually. He was good in the Championship but I don't think he is Prem quality personally, although I know some Norwich fans do.

Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVIII
That's an accurate assessment. At Championship level he has the pace to look good, and you don't have to have the distribution of Matthaus to look class. In the Prem he has his good moments, but his awkwardness on the ball, combined with his limited reading of the game, mean he's a backup at best. Nice kid though.
Now sell me Pirlo

Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVIII
Chelsea scum. Another false allegation against referees, I really hope they pound down on Mikel an Chelsea but I doubt they will because the FA are idiots.
Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVIII
Why bring Rio up? If a United player made false accusations I'd want him punished. When Rio was done for missing drug test I supported the FA and was sickened by the England players who were going to boycott the Turkey game I think. To the point where I almost stopped supporting England, I was very disappointed with Neville leading the cause.
Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVIII
Then the FA gave players who were found guilty less. It's a joke.
What's the point of supporting the anti racism cause when no real action is taken.

Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVIII
I have to say I am with Viva on this one. There needs to be action taken against Chelsea if they are wrong for bringing the game into disrepute. How are we meant to encourage young people into becoming referees in this climate?

Police have dropped the case due to lack of evidence against Clattenburg, not because he didn't do it.
I personally blame misinterpretation. Geordie English v Nigerian English.

Lack of evidence the same as John Terry. You can't accuse Chelsea of making it up without pointing the same finger at Anton and Rio Ferdinand

Doesn't mean the FA won't pursue it though as they did with JT after the courts found him not guilty.

Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVIII
I imagine that will be different though Hero. JT admitted he said it, but said he was repeating what he thought Ferdinand had accused him off. The court of law said their was insufficient evidence that he used it in a discriminatory manner. The FA rule was that he admits he said it, so whatever context he is wrong. (which is daft in itself ).
I would guess Clattenburg will deny he said anything whether he did or not

If Clattenburg is found guilty by FA fair enough I just want consistency
Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVIII
If Clattenburg is found guilty he'll be taking the FA to CAS I imagine.
If he isn't he'll be taking Chelsea to court for defamation of character.

Isnt the right verdict more important than consistency. If the FA got it wrong with the JT case, I don't want them to get it wrong in the Clattenburg case just to be consistent. I would rather they got one wrong and one right, than both wrong

In any case, I don't think you can really throw the book at Chelsea that hard, you don't want to dissuade clubs from reporting racism.
But there has to be some sort of comeback on Chelsea

Re: Euro Division Homepage XXXVIII
With the FA they go by whose evidence they believe the most and who when questioned is consistent in their statement, which is why Suarez and JT both fell foul, I imagine Clattenburg will come out of it fine as most character witnesses for him have as whiter than white character (no pun intended) whilst JT and Suarez had a fair amount of baggage on their record for other misdemeanours.
