It's out of the two Manchester clubs. I know United are playing some exciting Football and the come back against Villa but they are conceding far too many for a club who wants to win the title. Sooner or later the free goal scoring will dry up and they'll have to grind a couple 1-0.

City are plugging away and I can only see them getting better, it'll be tight but I feel if they get knocked out of CL it'll give them the advantage in the league.

So many people underestimate how hard it's to juggle the CL an d league, City with all their money are struggling and so did the likes of Liverpool. Think some credit should go to United how they've made later stages past few years.

I feel it will be both the Manchester clubs too, but I fear Mancini may lose his job which for me may swing it in Utd's favour

That said, I'd rather have him play for England than Bent, Welbeck or Sturridge!

I like The Hawthornes actually, it's a nice ground. Although on my away travels I have realised that at most grounds they search you before you come in, but at Norwich they don't. I once took some darts that I just purchased into the ground at Carrow Road! It's a good job a Burnley player didn't urine me off, or else he would have taken a dart to the skull Laugh

Tip from me - don't wear face paint to a cup semi. The crying afterwards makes a horrible mess Sad

Some people aren't grasping the concept of Clattenburg being innocent but Mikel legitimately believing he was abused. Neither party are lying IMO, but Viva getting all "Chelsea are scum" about it makes him look 100% biased. And it makes Olly out to be the narrow minded farmer boy we all suspected he was Wink

Viva's part of the OUM club - Only United Matter. I suspect the Clattenburg thing has been concocted by Chelsea to gloss over the fact that their captain was banned for racism. This is a much bigger story than that ever was.

Trebs, good to hear from you again. Just don't bet on Albion this weekend!

Morning.

I followed that twitter link, doesnt go to a page anymore. Says "Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!"

but Mikel legitimately believing he was abused.
Marky, do you grasp the fact Mikel didnt hear anything himself and was told by Ramires who doesnt speak fluent English.
I agree with Viva, Chelsea are scum. They accuse Clattenburg of inappropriate language, racial at that. There very own Club Captain Mr John Terry was found guilty of racially abusing another player. They didnt do diddly squat as a club themselves to Terry.
Liverpool just as bad if not worse, they supported a man who was also found guilty. That may of mostly been down to a very bad call from a manager who is no longer at his post.

The Society of Black Lawyers are loving it, they're all over the place right now. Who'd heard of them before this?

Actually looking forward to an England game tonight. I want to see the new players in action, and to see a well deserved 100th cap for Steven Gerrard.

No he wasn't. A court of law proved him innocent OK

The FA gave him a ban because there was so much pressure on him to do so. They looked like absolute mugs when they said 'he may be innocent by law, but the law of the football pitch says he's guilty'. Okay, so why not ban him for 8 months like you did with Rio (for missing a drugs test) and Cantona (for giving an abusive fan a good seeing to).

I think the FA were desperate to save face with Terry. The whole thing had gone on so long, and had cost him the captaincy and Capello a job, that if it ended up with 'oh, he's innocent.' the FA would look like a bunch of turds.

So they went against the findings of a court of law, and found him guilty anyway. They still look like turds though.

I'd say that the court of law didn't find him innocent but more so that they didn't have enough conclusive evidence to find him guilty which is why the FA could charge him because they give verdicts based on a sliding scale of greyness rather than black and white in which the courts operate in.
Basically the judge said there was doubt over the reason why JT said what he said so had to find a verdict of not guilty.

Exactly Hero, so he wasn't guilty. The law of our country said he did not racially abuse Anton Ferdinand, so in my eyes that's proof enough.

I still wish he'd have been done though Laugh

No he wasn't. A court of law proved him innocent
Thats fair enough.

You mention Rio's 8 months, Cantona but the one everyone compared it to was Suarez, who got double the ban for the same thing. I cant even express in words what I think of that.

Surely you, a United fan, aren't about to say Suarez was hard done by?

Who saw him celebrate his goal alone on Sunday? Laugh

I dont know to be honest. At the time 8 games seemed fitting. Terry than get 4 for the same thing, 1 more than a red card ban.
So is a 4 game ban sufficient for racial abuse? Is a 8 game ban sufficent?
When was the last ban for racial abuse before Suarez? I cant recal one so the 8 game ban should set the benchmark, if so why does Terry get 4.

If i go on that logic than no, Saurez wasnt hard done by but you could sympathise for him when looking at Terrys 4 game ban for an identical incident.

Suarez's thing wasn't the same. Terry supposedly repeated something Ferdinand said, whereas Suarez proper went racial. Terry was more threatening, but Suarez was blatantly more racial, so in terms of the ratio of games/offence, Suarez getting double what Terry got is fair. Shame it wasn't 8 months and 16 months!
