Wlad vs Wach

First topic message reminder :

I am genuinely intrigued by this weekend's fight - not because I think Wach will win - I don't know enough about him to form an opinion, but I actually believe that Wlad has never fought someone who is larger than him (albeit marginally).

One of Wlad's favourite tactics is to "lean" on his (usually smaller) opponents. Take that away and he's lost a fairly significant part of his armoury. He has also recently lost the trainer who has made him the fighter he is today.

I think that Wlad will be out to prove a point and may be a touch more animated than usual. TKO by the end of 5 for me.

What do you guys reckon?

Wlad took a round off after a busy 8th yet still hit Wlad with a couple of big shots that would have knocked out most contenders

I can why the K brothers are popular with the Germans - slow, efficient, get the job done. Come on Wach, final round, biggest moment of your life - no surrender!

I dont understand what Wach's plan is, he finds his way inside without throwing a punch and then when he gets in he........doesn't do anything!!

He is throwing the odd few jabs and powershots which are brutally slow but I dont understand why he doesnt just start swinging like a mad man. He hurt Wlad a little and he has nothing to lose. Plus Wlad has hit him with everything but the kitchen sink and not really hurt him.

Its baffling

Haye won the odd round though, I'd be amazed if this isn't scored as a shut-out win for Wlad (rightly so). Wach is game, but just isn't good enough, not by a long way. Had he not caught Wlad with a decent shot in R6 we wouldn't be discussing...

Yea in the real world Haye won rounds by running and Wlad couldn't catch him. Wach at least stood right in front of him and tried. He was limited to be generous but fair play to him, he has some chin.

To be fair we're talking about small margins. Neither threw much, did they? 2 fights I wont remember much about in 5 years time.

I gave my opinion against Haye and you seem to have taken it to heart , what I meant was Wach has taken far more risks than 'Hype job at time' Haye.

Wach had one hell of a chin, but that's about it. I was also impressed with Wlad's defence after he got slightly buzzed. Wlad hit him clean so many times flush, Wach didn't roll with the punches, so does Wlad hit as hard as we thought?

Boring as usual mind you...

Wach was game, yes. He was also incredibly limited, and it's hard to think of any ATG HWs who wouldn't have knocked him out. Wlad guilty of being overcautious IMO, the only round he had a real go (8) Wach was almost out of there...

He stood there taking punches trying to get his own off. He failed because he was too slow.

haye was nt a punch bag like wach , he had hart but hes lack of head movement was shocking ,

Slow? He moves pretty fast for a heavy weight at 6,6 and 247lbs!

So running for 12 rounds is a better performance than trying to get a victory?, Haye didn't try to win. Also its the way Haye went about it that many people disliked, blaming a toe, promising a k.o etc

So going by your logic, Haye is a good boxer because he didn't get hit like Wach did. I guess Haye was successful against Wlad as he wasn't a punchbag?

Wach stood there and lost, Haye ran and lost. Best man (by a country mile) won both times.

Wlad shut Haye down style makes fights...Haye is a good boxer you dont win 2 world titles in 2 different weight classes if your not.
