It does look awesome, and if it is anywhere near as good as Red Dead Redemption they'll be many more love accidents to come.

Add me to the list guys. Chomping at the bit waiting for this one!
Stuck it on my wishlist as soon as I heard it was a Rockstar game, did the same with Red Dead Redemption - bought it without reading any reviews!

Re: LA NOIRE
I found that RDR was just a wild-west version of GTA. Horses instead of cars. Very similar.
I hope that LA Noire offers something new and original.

Re: LA NOIRE
When I first got RDR I played it for half an hour and then didn't play it again for a few weeks. I think that was more to do with GTA overload because I'd just finished the Lost and the Damned and the Ballad of Gay Tony.
When I picked up RDR I couldn't stop. Absolutely love it. By the sounds of it though LA Noire is going to be pretty far removed from the sandbox style of the GTA series and RDR.

Re: LA NOIRE
I'm currently going through RDR. Have to say I really enjoy it. I'm pretty much finished it. Just need to do a lot of the side missions, collecting stuff etc.
Re: LA NOIRE
RDR is a long game and an absolute classic, expect this to be everybit as good, ,i might be wrong but i don't think there is side missions in L.A Noir.

Don't think there's side missions Giant, I think it's more like there are multiple choices to make and each one affects the story differently.
Pre-ordered my copy today, stroll on May 20th!

Think there are side missions but may be in the form of minor cases. Game are doing a preorder bonus of a bonus mission called "The Naked City" that is from the vice desk. Sounds Saucy

Yeah from what I've seen its nothing like GTA. Most of the focus is on the heavy rain type detective work and they developed a stupidly cool facial capture system so you can actually work out for yourself if a suspect is lying. Think theres some punching and shooting but mostly looks like using your head to advance in the game...which is Rockstar coming out of their comfort zone so can't wait to see the result

Re: LA NOIRE
First game I've ever pre-ordered, basically because here in Canada if you got it from Best Buy there is some extra stuff free. By the way it's released here in North America on the 17th May (so I get a 3 day head-start )

Make sure you complete all the side missions as it brings closure to the game (which turned out to be one of my all time favorite games).

Re: LA NOIRE
I pre-ordered La Noire last night from Game.
The guy says they have 2 versions coming in and they don't know the prices so he has ordered both.
He twice pre-ordered the 360 versiosn despite me saying PS3.

Some people are just too stupid to realise how to order something correctly.
Fortunately I was on the ball and pointed out his error.

Re: LA NOIRE
Going to pick this up when I get back from holiday to America.
Not going to preorder so will miss out on the pre order bonuses, but if GTA4 and RDR are anything to go by then there will be plenty of downloadable content availble in the future.
Not sure which I'm more excited for La Noire or Las Vegas?

Really not happy, just read an email saying that they cancelled my order because my shipping addy did'nt match the billing addy. Clearly does because they've sent me tons of stuff with no problems before

Re: LA NOIRE
My copy arrived in the post this morning... and I'm at work until 5! So I have it here, sitting next to me on the desk, can't play it until I get home
I will play it this evening after the rugby finishes up and then post a few first impressions.

I've got on Thursday, played about 2 hours. I would say its a slow starter bit boring atm. Hopefully will pick up as I think its vastly overrated at this moment in time.

Re: LA NOIRE
So far, so good. Really well put together. Really like the whole system for examining objects, looking for clues.
Wandering around crime scenes might get boring, but the presentation is really excellent. I think this is going to be epic.

45 minutes in, got up to get to my macbook, tripped and knocked over my XBox. Multiple scratches on the disc. Beyond saving.
Looks like I'll be out another 40 squid for a replacement if I want to continue...

Re: LA NOIRE
First impressions; good enough for me to shell out (again!) for a new copy. And I'm a student.
Gameplay is completely different to anything else out there on the XBox. I've heard Heavy Rain is a bit like this on the PlayStation. Acting is actually really good- face and voice.
Definitely a bit more interesting than endless shoot-em ups. I mean, I like those games but I don't want to have 20 identical games.

It is very, very good, some people might find it a bit repetitive but they have put a lot of thought into each case. I've just been promoted for the third time and won't spoil it for anyone but just played the best case so far, was an absolute wild goose chase!
