First topic message reminder :

Teenage future superstar, Mark Bennett, is to rejoin Glasgow Warrios on loan from ASM Clermont-Auvergne till the end of the season - Glasgow's back division gets even stronger - great news

I don't see the problem with a bit of hype to be honest, England have over George Ford, Scottish rugby needs big names and special players need special treatment; Jonny Wilkinson was fast-tracked into the England team and he was pretty good. Yes, he needs to prove himself but a guy who's been lauded by pros and coaches and been scouted for Clermont, where he went from the u19s to the u21s to the u23s, must be good and as a result there will be hype around him. Obviously whether or not he fulfils his potential is down to him but I see nothing wron with getting excited about a player.

Nice one! I've wanted to see this young fella playing for ages! Hopefully he's as talented as I've been led to believe. Glasgow have serious strength in depth in the backline just now.. incredible.

Glasgow could produce two or three decent backlines

Cusiter
Weir
Maitland
Dunbar
Bennett
Van De Merwe
Hogg

Matawalu
Jackson
Seymour
Morrison
Horne
S. Lamont
Ramont

Pyrgos
Wight
Paris
Nathan
McGuigan
Thomson
Murchie

He was injured most of last season, and now he's fit, they've sent him back. I don't think we'll be seeing him and Fofana forging the next great European centre partnership. The hype on Bennett is frankly ludicrous, given he hasn't played professional rugby properly yet!
Fair enough Mr Magoo.

I'll just say that I've seen a lot of young players over the years and when I watched Bennett for Ayr, it was blindingly obvious that he was operating at a level above that of the league he was in. He's got every chance. The hype is happening around him. It's not down to the player. England bang on about Ford, Ireland about JJ Hanrahan, Wales about just about every young player that comes across their path.

We Scots are good at self deprecation and understatement is always my preference, but from time to time I'll let myself dream big about a player. So I'm going to do that now, at the risk of embarrassing myself later. Ale

You know me, I don't like to focus on facts too much, but there's an obvious difference between JJ Hanrahan and George Ford on the one hand, and Mark Bennett on the other......any guesses??
