Good ending to Moto GP season
Well what a finish to the Moto GP season. First the race was declared a wet weather race which led to many riders opting for wet weather tyres then Dani Pedrosa decideing to change to slicks after the warm up lap which meant he had to start from pit lane.As the race progressed more riders realised they had chosen the wrong tyres and came in for a change,Rossi and Stoner amongst them.Lorenzo had made the right decision and soon took the lead with Yamaha test rider Nakasuga in a creditable second but by lap 13 the leaders were beginning to lap the slower riders and in his haste to get away from Pedrosa who was only four seconds behind hit a damp patch on the track an his race was over. Next to fall wa Crutchlow who looked to be certain for a podium spot which let Stoner in to third. Abraham was the best of the Ducati riders. Roll on next season, will Lorenzo be able to keep the title? or will Pedrosa have better luck and finally get the result he deserves?. Stoner will be missed and Rossi will have no excuses about not having a competetive machine, if a rider can finish second on his first ever Moto GP outing Rossi with his experience should do well.

Rossi has nothing to prove to anyone so I'm a bit bemused at the dig. Was a good race with plenty of positives. One being that we won't be seeing the moaner anymore.
It will be a great 2013 and I expect the doctor to be at the sharp end of the grid again

Re: Good ending to Moto GP season
Good ending to the season is right, ideally we'd have had a last race shootout between Lorenzo and Pedrosa for the title but it wasn't to be. Really looking forward to next season already although!
I won't miss Casey Stoner's post race bleating about this, that and the next thing being wrong with the bike despite winning, but his talent is beyond question so in that respect it's disappointing he's decided to retire.
Rossi back at Yamaha is an intriguing prospect, I wonder how long we'll have to wait before him and Lorenzo fall out again? Dani Pedrosa should be there or thereabouts on the Honda again next season and I think Marc Marquez could be a bit of a wildcard. Not saying he'll be in title contention but wouldn't be at all surprised if he gets a win or two.
Can't wait to see how the all British line-up at Tech 3 get on. Cal will be looking to make a step up to regular podium getter and Bradley Smith will be under pressure to show that he can mix it with the big boys.
2013 is going to be a belter!

Re: Good ending to Moto GP season
I don't know the ins and outs of Moto GP but found it strange that someone as good as Rossi didn't do better with the Ducati - outride it so to speak (although I think he did win the inter team battle). The only person who seems to have mastered it was Stoner - something to do with giving it some wellie out of the corners.
Looking forward to the head to head at Yamaha - all sports need rivalries - something F1 often shys away from. But agree with Belgarion - Rossi has nothing to prove.

Re: Good ending to Moto GP season
Might be going against the trend but I think he does have something to prove. He's spent 2 years on a Ducati which, for the most part, was awful by his lofty standards. So he had 2 choices:
1) Get back on the Yamaha and show everyone he's still got it by winning one for world title (or at least a few more races).
2) Retire and everyone thinks he was passed his sell-by date as it were, especially if Dovi does something with the Ducati which I think he might. If not, it proves it was the bike's fault and not Vale's.
Overall, a decent season but I think we were robbed of a mega title battle when Stoner went off.
