The Azzrentice! Task 1

The first task - DEADLINE 2359 ON THURSDAY 22 NOVEMBER - is very simple. England played Sweden on Wednesday night - I want you to tell me what each of the England starting XI would be doing if they weren't footballers. To be clear: this isn't a test of what did Joe Hart get in his Art GSCE, but a test of character assessment. You tell me what each player would be suited to in the real world, and the winning team will get a luxury prize. And from the losing team, one of you will be FIRED!

Viva, you are the Captain of Team Wilshere, and Olly, you are the Captain of Team Scholes. Please ask questions if you need any clarity.

Sadly I'll have to change that to Tooze and Fan, who gets fired for no fault of his own - but I can hardly fire someone now then let him join in next week.

So, we have Olly, Marky, Trebs, Nando and Soddy. Someone please tell me exactly how the task was done, who did what, and who in your mind should be fired from the five of you.

Well, to start with we brainstormed ideas, nobody was really set on a particular task. If we thought of something funny, we posted it. Then eventually we got all of our squad sorted out, and we divided up the squad players between us, doing a couple each.

Olly, as I've said before was a bit slow to get off the ground as Marky had to set up the team page. We all had different suggestions, but I think the problem was we didn't have that stroke of genius, that something innovative which the other team had. It's very difficult to pin the blame on one person. Marky refused to any more work at one point regarding the squad players and Olly did try.

Sounds to me like some people didn't want to go the extra mile to win. And I see that this task was something that you weren't particularly keen on either Trebs - what did you do in this task? Which of the players' careers were your ideas?

I suggested ideas throughout but Olly rejected them. I did some of the squad players though so it's not as if I did nothing. And unlike others, I'm actually here, nobody else is. To say I'm not particularly keen is unfair, I'm not much of a comedian, I'm more of a thinker but I tried and did my best in a scenario which isn't very 'up my street' if you like. There's a difference in not being good at something and not trying to do something.

I like your spunk Trebs, I came at you and you threw it back at me. You're safe.

I think, as no-one is here, I'm going to have to make some choices and if they're wrong, then tough.

Trebs - the one I liked most was the Tom Cleverley one. Who came up with that?

Olly posted up the Cleverley one, so unless someone PM'd Olly and then he posted it, then it was him, but I can't be sure. The idea was that everyone PM'd olly the ideas.

That's what's making this difficult. I can only go on the facts I see on your team page. So with that in mind...

Olly - I thought your leadership was poor. It took Marky to make your team page, and you were not as active as I would have expected you to be. Perhaps this was due to comminucating via PM, but I saw little evidence of true leadership.

Marky - you showed initiative setting up the team page, and came up with the Joe Hart line. However I was very disappointed that you sat back after 'doing your bit'. This is a team effort, and there's no 'I' in team. Is there? IS THERE?

Soddy - you came up with several good ideas. You're safe.

Trebs - I've already said you're safe.

Nando - I can't ssee that you've contributed much to the task.

So...

Olly - next time pull your socks up kid.

Marky - next time I want to see some teamwork from you, put your partners first.

By the way, the Cleverley comment was mine (a simple look on the Team Scholes page would have said who added what) and as far as stopping after I had "done my bit", I was merely encouraging others to participate. It is a team effort after all.

I also think in defence of Marky that he read the instruction of 'England's Starting XI' and thought that concentrating on what was asked was more important than faffing about with extras.

I could have just said "good job Olly/Marky/Soddy/Trebs, Nando did the lest so he's fired, and Tooze and Russ/Fan are fired for not taking part"...but for the sake of theatre, I came up with that.

But in my defence i only got told i apart of the squad a few days ago when i got a PM from Olly although i thought i missed the deadline for signing up, also for the record he's a terrible leader he was going to miss the deadline until i suggested to post it

No. I was told that the monies I proposed were far too high, so it's nowt for you lot...
