Bit of a running thread we could hopefully keep going....
Meet Joe Black - Never seen it before, thought it was great but maybe a bit too long at 3 hours. One of Brad Pitt's best performances.
Source Code - Bit of a head f**k, won't lie to you i didn't fully understand the ending.

Paranormal Activity 3. Absolute pap - enjoyed the first one, thought it a bit original. The second was average at best but the third installment was pure tripe. I warned my Mrs it was supposed to be poor before she purchased it on cable but she wouldn't have it. 1/10.
Made in Dagenham. Depressing, another nail in the coffin of male superiority Actually didn't mind it, good British film 7/10.

Went to see woman in black last night. Thought it was well made, was on the edge of my seat throughout waiting for something to happen, really atmospheric and some genuinely jumpy moments

I watched a truly awful film last night - Twisted with Ashley Judd, Sam Jackson and Andy Garcia.
Actually awful is too good a description.
why did I carry on watching?

Jack and Jill, I think Adam Sandlers best days are gone. The film was predictable and not that funny

I've seen the trailer for Jack & Jill , and although I'm a big Sandler fan I think I'll give this one a miss.

The Change Up, Jason Bateman was quality in it. Decent comedy.
Dream House - Daniel Craig, Rachel Weiz, not to bad.

The Lincoln Lawyer with Matthew Mcconaughey. Very Good Storyline & Superb Soundtrack if you like old-school hip hop beats. 8/10

Re: Last Film Watched Thread
Not sure if anyone has explained the ending of the "Source Code" on this thread - it is "straight forward" in story land but impossible in reality. For those that haven't yet seen the film I'll put it in the spoiler.
- Spoiler:
- The film assumes the existence of the postulated multiverse, the existance of an infinite number of parallel universes (see Wikipedia).
When the guy jumps into the body of the guy on the train he is jumping into a "real" parallel universe.
When the train blows up the body "dies" in the parallel universe but his "soul" returns back to his own universe.
At the end of the film he jumps into another parallel universe, stops the train from blowing up, and saves the girl.
Back in his original universe the technician stops the respirator and his body dies, and so his "soul" is trapped in the "new" (parallel) universe. He and the saved girl then live happily ever after in the parallel universe. [He also sends a text to the technician in that parallel universe and she switches off the life support of his parallel self ... if I recall correctly].
However, whatever happens to the "soul" of the person he jumped into is not explained and we can only assume that that soul disappears. Although this would be quite tough for him to take, that's Hollywood, and he would have died anyway with the train blowing up.
So it's a blend of parallel universes (a speculative theory) combined with Hollywood nonsense

Well there's a surprise Adam Sandler had some 'best days'.
He is sooooooooooo wooden. There seems to be a three second delay every time he has a line.

Man on a Ledge.
Should be renamed "Man on a Ledge. With plot holes"
And Ed Harris looks ANCIENT in it!

Yeah warrior was a great film, thought everyone played their parts well.
The song at the start of the film was great to. The National 'start a war'.
Great stuff.

Tower Heist with Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Casey Afllect, Mathew Broderick, Alan Alda, Tea Leoni, Gabourey Sidibe (girl from the film precious).
Proof if ever it was needed that just by filling a cast up with stars doesn't guarantee a decent film. Got a thing for Tea Leoni though so it wasn't all bad....

The Retreat. Was optimistic being a British film and although what I thought a pretty original script the film itself wasn't great and the story seemed to move too quickly and without explanation or reason. One of of the main characters seemed to go from being cautiously optimistic to downright ultra depressed in a matter of seconds and yet nothing had really happened by that point. 4/10.

Finally got round to watching Battle Royale (not sure why it's taken me so long to see it given that I'm a fan of modern Japanese cinema). Great stuff.
Also saw Drive the other night. Brilliant and not entirely what I was expecting. Quite violent and wears it's John Carpenter and Michael Mann influences well.

I was a little disappointed by Drive. I thought it was good but not as good as some people were making it out to be. I just thought it dipped too much in the middle. Still the opening sequence was brilliant. Class sound track too.

Saw 'Most Exotic Marigold Hotel' last night.
Very funny, feel good film, some great one liners.
A posh snobby woman was talking about her 40th wedding anniversary.
'I'm not sure what to organise' she said. Another bitchy woman says 'How about a minutes silence'.

Usual Suspects. Think it may only be my second time watching it and it's still a very good film despite knowing what happens and despite having a DVD which suddenly gets jumpy in the middle of the film. Would recommend the film to anybody.
