Bit of a running thread we could hopefully keep going....
Meet Joe Black - Never seen it before, thought it was great but maybe a bit too long at 3 hours. One of Brad Pitt's best performances.
Source Code - Bit of a head f**k, won't lie to you i didn't fully understand the ending.

Some studio exec is going to think that a great idea for the next spin-off is "Alien Annihilation: Shaw v Ripley" (which involves our two heroines travelling through time and going after each other having destroyed every last alien/engineer). An interesting question though, in terms of "Who would win in a fight...?"

After this we could do a Shaw/Riddick crossover.
I reckon she could take Vin Diesel.

Her husband/lover is infected and set on fire. She gets smashed around in a sandstorm. Performs a c-section on herself without anaesthetic, doesn't catch an infection after the 'child' leaks into her gaping wound. Lays still as a robot staples her stomach together and can run around in a swimsuit whilst being mauled by an engineer and not suffer internal hemorrhaging or have any sort of emotional breakdown despite being left stranded on a planet inhabited by aliens with the severed head of an android to keep her company.
I bet she doesn't even get a period.

Never really enjoyed Training Day, thought it was slow but mainly poorly scripted and never got the fuss about it.

Skyfall- Great film - Best ever bond- he seems real and flawed for once, its a nice uncomplicated ride full of action and the odd bit of comedy!! 8.5/10
Here comes the Boom- funny, abit yucky- typical done before 100000 times, but fun- 6/10
Edward Scissorhands - love that weird whacky film- 8/10

Saw Cockneys Vs Zombies the other day (after my missus showing me Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter the day before) - very silly film but seeing Alan Ford (Bricktop) and a senile/pervy Richard Briers (from The Good Life) fighting zombies was awesome - funny, silly and a good way to waste an 1 and a half if you're looking for nothing more.

Re: Last Film Watched Thread
It was quite decent surprisingly - I don't really like zombie/vampire films unless their very very silly (Shaun of the Dead, Evil Dead 2, Cockneys Vs...) but it had some quite good acting, some decent set pieces and some nice references to incidents in Abraham Lincolns actual life - not my sort of film but I'd sit there and watch it again.

Sinister - very good horror film, good cast, acting and story and still scary even though you can figure it out early on.
Paranormal activity 4 - shameless cash in sequel that is genuinely awful.
Skyfall - poor, written more in its thread but the story line is a garbled mess.

The Others - pleasantly surprised, quite gripping and managed to avoid the cliches associated with the genre. Not the most original film but great performances and not riddled with plot-holes although a fair amount of suspension of disbelief is necessary. Just been reading some of the posts on IMDB which were pretty creepy.

Sorry Galted, I was getting mixed up with the French film 'Them' for some reason.
I think there was an American remake of this but without Kidman.
I did watch Rabbit Hole a few weeks ago. IMO, this was Kidman's best performance and possibly best film.

Watched a couple of new Will Ferrell films lately....
Casa Di Ma Padre - Terrible, not even going to waste my time explaining why! I just want to forget it ever happened. 1/10
The Campaign - Poor, Very Poor! Was hoping for a decent laugh as per the usual Will Ferrell films but this failed to deliver big time, i chuckled 2-3 times, but was not great at all. 5/10

Also....
The Amazing Spiderman - Too soon! Andrew Garfield makes a much better Spiderman, and it feels a lot more Blockbuster than the "old" films, but the storyline was weak and obvious. 6/10

I think after Step Brothers/Anchorman/The Other Guys/Old School/Blades of Glory, i just expected a bit more, not overly bothered though.

Corey Feldman cracked me up.
Shame his career went downhill. Was good in stand by me and lost boys.
Likewise his name sake Corey haim(rip).

Recently I've watched Shutter Island, Donnie Brasco and Rob Roy. All good films which I thoroughly enjoyed, each are available on Netflix if you have it.

Re: Last Film Watched Thread
Thought Shutter Island set itself up nicely but then had the obligatory twist that completely ruined it for me. I find Martin Scorsese a very hit & miss director, mainly misses but when he does get it right it's normally a classic (Taxi Driver/Goodfellas/King Of Comedy, still to see Raging Bull/Cape Fear/Mean Streets).

Re: Last Film Watched Thread
the twist was great IMO
but the problem with them sort of twists is that you can never have the same viewing experience twice.. you see the film from a completly different perspective second time round!!
unless offcourse you called it first time round!

Raging bull is worth the watch - a little overdone in some places but compelling nonetheless. Mystiroakey - its a fantastic film - especially in light of recent times - it really should be a much bigger film than it is.

Seen 28 days later and semi-pro recently, both were Poopie.
Also 'back door hussies 12'. Not really up to the standard of 11 but a solid movie nonetheless.
