2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 2
First topic message reminder :
The discussion(s) continue here guys.
Unbelievable win for the Canaries tonight which see's Man City top for the first time this season, will they hold on.
QPR - still without a win - look doomed and Aston Villa drop into the bottom 3.

Lukaku gets better every time I see him. Some lucky team will get him cheap because Pep won't need him.

I'm not sure Pep would dump him. Hes smart enough to know hed have to tailor his style to a different league, and hes talented enough to do it. People really do underrate him. Where were the all conquering Barca under Rikjaard?

They never look pretty, but not entirely sure what Walters expected would happen other than an OG

That is disgraceful. Quite obviously a dive.
No problem with going back and handing out a ban.

On 606 earlier the local radio guy was on and said the referee said to the Southampton coaching staff that he gave the penalty for a foul by Guzan on Puncheon.
Neither were penalties

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 2
That Lukaku fella looks pretty good, maybe Chelsea should take a look at him to be the replacement for Drogba....
To be fair to Sian Massey, every time I've seen her make a big call she's got it spot on. I think she realises there is a lot more pressure (wrongly) on her as a woman so is even more careful when making decisions.
I wonder if she'll ever become a referee, maybe the players would think twice about screaming in the referee's face if it was a woman.

Read somewhere that Citeh returned over half the tickets because they are 60 quid. Really is a heck of a lot if money. By the time you pay for travel and beer you're looking at 150 quid for a match.

I rarely go now to Premier League games due to the sheer expense of them whilst I can go to watch Macclesfield with my eldest son, get in, have some food and have change from £30.
Also we're home for just after 5pm instead of being stuck in traffic for a good couple of hours.

Who swapped Liverpool at half-time? They were very good 2nd half and deserved a point.

Which is just ridiculous. Fair play to the City fans for waiving.

They were in fairness, also there were a couple of times when Suarez was bursting through in the box, had players close to him and he could have easily have gone looking for a penalty yet in fairness he stayed on his feet, we're all quick to jump on his back the moment he goes to ground or handballs etc but he didn't today.

Not praising him so to speak but acknowledging that he didn't live up to the reputation he's been given. It's refreshing to finish a game between Utd and Liverpool and it not being blighted by something controversial that blights the game.

Indeed, I don't think he was clipped at any point during the game but he didn't go down looking for anything and was sporting at times, e.g. after he fouled (Vidic?) in the first half he tapped his hand afterwards. A long way to go to redeem himself but he was a "good guy" today.

Because everyone is quick to acknowledge when there is controversy so as parity I'm addressing it. Why does it not need to be mentioned that both sides played the game fairly and without controversy Id be more concerned over, that we have become a nation that's quick to pour scorn as a lynch mob but the moment two heated rivals actually just play football we cannot discuss that?
