Warming up for the game, hopefully it might be a classic like this one. Featuring Hansen learning his trade.

My favourite game of all time. Ok we didn't win but it was the first time I saw "hope" since the 70s.

I remember being I'm Walkabout Swansea. When Shane scored to take the lead the feeling was something I can't explain. There was pandemonium everywhere it was not happening.

Also the commentary that day was as good as it gets. Greg Clark is awesome

"The Kiwi's got it"
"It's than man Williams"
"Ozzie rules, New Zealand rules".

A moment to get your Welsh blood going.

I reckon that Welsh lock would get a two week suspension for that these days. Whistle

Even after NZ score the first try, Wales keep possession DON'T KICK IT AWAY and nearly score from Alfie.

Then straight afterwards they get field position again via a sublime chip n chase from Stephen Jones.

This is NINE years ago and Wales were so quick to the ruck and recycling and passing the ball out really fast. They also changed direction quickly and tried anything.

What's gone wrong?

They were young and had nothing to lose.

That style of play won us the slam in 2005, it was there in traces in 2008, but disappeared in the Gatland years. Shane was the embodiment. Henson had it, Hook in spades, Martyn too. They've all gone now, for differing reasons. Of the current crop, Halfpenny has some, North a little bit, nobody else.

I miss Charvis. Most international tries for a forward. He was the complete forward/back player.

You're right. Wales change style, win a tournament but can't evolve further.

2005: beautiful rugby, offloads, pace, brains
2008: Hook, Henson, Shane and Martyn with a bit of grunt
2012: Fixed gameplan, brut strength and youngsters

We need more flair players. I like Liam Williams.

Got a feeling that's how it will be on saturday. All Blacks running it from everywhere while being extremely fast and clinical with Wales really struggling to keep up with the pace.

I would pick a backline of players in their original / most natural position and just tell them to for play. The forwards just need to be more aggressive and quicker to the ball.

Halfpenny is our only creative back and he was originally a 10.

15. Liam Williams
14. Alex Cuthbert
13. James Hook
12. Gavin Henson
11. Eli Walker
10. Leigh Halfpenny
9. Gareth Davies

I would love to see that just for experimentation. Attack and create!!

When was Leigh ever a 10? Must have been his junior school days, which isn't really relevant. And Liam Williams is also naturally a winger. We lack a natural 13 and 15.

Shanklin was our best 13.

To be honest I think JD2 is amazing at 13 he's developed loads.

Personally always thought Roberts would be better deployed in the outside centre than as a 12. I do think Wales are better with a creative inside centre.

Yeah agree Tycroes. Henson was that, but a very solid defender with a big boot also. Shame he's gone.

The All Blacks were playing rugby on another level (as per) in this game but some of the Welsh play is also outstanding. There's a number of aspects back then that are far better than they are now (bar defence). I'd give anything to have a kiwi forwards coach and kiwi backs coach to come in with immediate affect. Also I wonder what the supposed changes were that Hansen made for that game. Big pack too by the way.

Enjoyed that. The players and fans must have had some belief they could do it, even though it was for a short time only.
