Stuart Lancaster has signed British cycling's sports scientist Matt Parker.
England coach Stuart Lancaster has signed sports scientist Matt Parker, who helped British cycling to success in Beijing and London, to the management team.
Parker was involved in paving the way for Bradley Wiggins' Tour de France triumph this year - he worked with the former track cyclist ahead of his unexpected fourth place finish in the 2009 race, changing his body as well as his mindset.
Blood spinning for rugby players as well?

Good on him I say for trying it.
Most sports for years have been very 'inbred' and afraid to look outside their own boundaries for different training/cocahing techniques.
The performances by Britsih cyclists over recent years has been nothing short of phenomenal so if he can help then why not.
I remember talking to Byron Hayward when he was playing and still fighting and also listened to interviews with Joe and Enzo Calzaghe, all said that they were quite shocked how poor the overall fitness of rugby players were compared to boxers and how poor the training regimes were.

I didn't know Parker was leaving cycling where there has been some phenomenal results, for Team GB.

Test match rugby margins are tight. Anything to gain an edge is good. He should look to other sports as well such as rowing and swimming. Good on 'im
