Hatton Undercard
First topic message reminder :
All the talk for the last few weeks has been about Ricky, and rightly so. But has given his fighters the chance to prepare without having cameras stuck in their face every 5 minutes which is bound to help. So how do we see those going?
I think Gary Buckland will get through his fight against Steven Forster JR. Forster JR is a decent boxer but Bucklands power is the real equaliser. I also feel Murray will beat Navarro in a WBA Interim fight putting him right back in the title mix. The one I can't pick is Munroe and Quigg, before the last fight I picked Munroe but Quigg had the better of what little action there was. Possibly Munroe underestimated just how skilled Quigg, hopefully there will be no cuts though.

The guy was like bambi on ice with every shot, hardly enough to warrant a titl shot
Geale and Macklin would beat him rather comfortably imo and Golovkin would destroy him. I would probably make him favourite vs Barker and his work rate could trouble Quillin who didn't look that fresh last fight although it was pretty gruelling fight. I don't rate Chavez at all so feel murray could outwork him over 12 but he judges won't agree with me

Murray would need a KO to get a draw against Chavez, no way they will let him lose again.

Murray ain't a puncher, Chavez wouldn't go down fighting Martinez so he'd just walk through Murray in my opinion and get a late stoppage. I like the lad, but world level is too much for him, given the talent out there.

Re: Hatton Undercard
Yea but Chavez is so drained at middleweight that he can't keep up a high tempo and looks flat footed. Murray is nothing special but if he can get to the body early he just might leave Chavez with too little to end strong
Remember that Zbik should have got the decision by outworking him and Rubio almost had him by electing to stand and trade with Chavez despite being massively outweighed. Murray is a big guy and won't let Chavez bully him

Re: Hatton Undercard
I think he'd get bullied, most of Chavez' opponents do. I don't like Chavez, but what they've managed to do with him is create a HUGE middleweight who can't really be shaken - Murray hasn't shown anything to suggest he'll outwork him, Zbik and Rubio were much better than Murray.
Seems like I don't like Murray - really I do, but Barker I feel is the best Middleweight we have.

Re: Hatton Undercard
Aside from Macklin who has been far more impressive against a higher calibre of opponent. Zbik isn't anything special and wouldn't make him a favourite over Murray at all, the biggest problem he has is his lack of power which seems to stem from a fairly poor punching technique.

Re: Hatton Undercard
Zbik got stopped in the 7th after losing almost every round to Sturm, a fighter that Murray beat in some eyes
Don't agree with Barker either, he has no power, lacks stamina even wothout fightimg at a high pace and is physically weak. Macklin was a lot more impressive vs Martinez than Barker was.

I have to say, that's the most impressive physique I've ever seen Hatton boast on fight night.

He looked rather marked up in interviews, I'm worried that his face might not take punishment like it used to.
Senchenko has a very long body, perfect for Hatton.

sigh,
On a more important note, that atmosphere is electric! Looks amazing with all the phone/camera screens around the arena.
Can't hear the band yet

Au contraire. All my Uni friends are English as was my last 2 recent exs. Hatton is washed up and his fans are chavs. Dint mind Hatton to be honest but Shenchenko is younger and more of a prospecthampo171 wrote:He's English, Steffan doesn't need another reason.

Decent first round by Hatton, although the good work Senchenko did within it was totally ignored by Darke and Woodhall.

Hatton needs to pipe down with the lead left hook to the head, its a little reckless and inaccurate.

Good second round from Senchenko, should be his.
Hatton's having trouble picking up Senchenko's right, particularly when it comes over the top.
