Andrew Hore attack on Bradley Davies
First topic message reminder :
It was off the ball, from behind and completely unprovoked.
How long should Andrew Hore be getting for this?

(Ignore the fact that it says Aaron Jarvis in the second link)

I'd put England and SA on a similar level.

Re: Andrew Hore attack on Bradley Davies
Methinks its time to put a fork in this one. Subject's been done up and over in my mind.
When does Hore face the music? Then, after he is tried and punished, we can return to Rubgy?
There is still a wee bit of International Rugby to be played. Some little matches on Saturday. I promise to watch live this time so I can adjudicate on all matters legal and not, holy and evil, and right and wrong. Then there will be no reasons for arguements, disagreements, questions or concerns. Up here on Mount Olympus, I, along with my royal court, will decide all things............

Certainly Hore prejudged it - made his mind up before he 'hooked' Davies

Please remind me, what apologies were forthcoming from Rougerie or the Irish player after gauging McCaw, from Hartley after his assault or Cooper after his?

He hit Davies deliberately, I don't for a second think he meant to KO him though.
Unfortunately for any team that doesn't immediately acknowledge the act are made to look all the more sinister by the baying media.

Little we can do re the media.
Hore citing announcement will be released this afternoon. It will be interesting to see the result, which way he pleads and if there are any mitigating circumstances...!

Re: Andrew Hore attack on Bradley Davies
Citing commisioner: "Well Mr Hore, would you like to explain your actions here"
AH: "well sir I was running towards a ruck when I saw Bradley Davies hurtle past me at speed, it scared me; the fella looked possesed. I could see he was heading straight at my colleagues who were valiantly trying to gain posession at the ruck. I then had a flashback to the previous 6 Nations and saw this huge welsh fella pick up a 6ft 8 Irish player and physically spear him into the ground. I panicked and feared what he might do to my mates who were still valiantly trying to gain posession completely unaware what was about to approach them. I had images of Ritchie being speared with the brute force of this monster and I feared for his life and that of my colleagues. In a fit of desperation I swung out an arm to try to protect my teammates. I'm not proud of my actions but I cannot bare to think what might have happened if that fella had got to the ruck - I am deeply sorry"
Citing panel -"Thank you for your explanation Mr Hore and we now fully understand the reasoning behind your actions. However we cannot condone such behaviour and therefore we have little obligation other than to ban you from all rugby until the end of December 2012 - On return you will be watched more carefully and we would appreciate it if you can let the officials take care of discipline on the field in future - Have a good Xmas"

Re: Andrew Hore attack on Bradley Davies
Just reported - Hore gets 6 months, reduced to 3 Hail Marys and a fiver in the collection box because he’s a good Christian family man.

It must be the only context in the civilised world where you can knock a guy out from behind and your punishment is to miss a game of rugby.
Ah well, time to draw a line.

Really - knocking a player out from behind in a clear assualt. should be 6 months and a criminal charge

Bradleys take on the matter:

Interesting comment below it:
"If only the precious and outraged keyboard warriors would be as gracious as this guy."
Well said.
Can we close the book on it now perhaps...

Re: Andrew Hore attack on Bradley Davies
yeah I know. un-moderated so anything goes.
Interesting Bradleys take and good to see Hore say his bit as well. So a bit of the fire has been put out, Bradleys back on the move.
It remains inexcusable but the healing can begin...
