View from the Papers
Wading through this mornings papers for their post-mortem on the weekend's rugby paints an oddly consistent, yet predictably distorted picture of reality.
The big brush strokes are:
Chris Robshaw cost England certain victory. Had he not forced Owen Farrell to kick for the posts England were guaranteed a certain try. The problem as they see it, is that Robshaw can't add up, or tell the time. So from this perspective, with a bit of remedial schooling, presumably Englands problems are solved. Easy. Let's move on.
Heroic Wales almost beat the All Blacks. Yes, admidts the greatest switch in form of all time, the mighty Wales pumelled NZ into submission, and were it not for (a) the scoreline and (b) Andrew Hore's thuggery then Wales would be crowned the new supreme lords of rugby.
Bizarrely, despite Andrew Hore's new status as arch enemy of the empire and Wales' new pre-eminent position in the sport, each paper includes an article on how NZ are a relentless conveyor of rugby talent and are the benchmark and unstoppably best rugby nation on the planet. Presumably this is a precursor to any English victory at Twickenham with obvious consequence. The Sunday Times let themselves down badly in this regard by displaying a picture of Kieran Read, claiming that he is Brodie Retallick, a debutant lock.
Then a couple of consdescending articles about Ireland "strangely" scoring ties and winning.
Tonga (who beat France in the RWC let's remember) are belittled and Scotland crucified for losing to them, amidst must speculation that AR must now go.
I wonder sometimes if there is just one rugby journalist who moonlights for the various papers in some tricky multipe personality charade.

How do we get a gagging order for awop?
I miss his "me no speaking English too good" comedy act. Now it's just predictable nonsense in an attempt to provoke a response

We aren't allowed to mention it though, or you get accused of being too sensitive or hounding him. He should've been kicked off yonks ago.

I really do wonder what medication he forgets to take. The amount of made up guff he spouts is worthy of an award
