I was sorry to hear this news earlier today.

Dave Sexton was a knowledgeable and thoughtful manager for, amongst others, Chelsea, QPR, Manchester United and Coventry City. He always came across as a quiet, dignified figure in stark contrast to contemporaries such as Malcolm Allison and Tommy Docherty.

Probably his greatest managerial success was leading Chelsea to FA Cup victory over the mighty Leeds in the replayed final of 1970. Also led QPR to the runners up spot in the old Division One (now the Premier League), their highest ever league place.

Sorry to hear the news....

When QPR came second in the top division that was a remarkable achievement, for an excellent team.
