Did NZ have an off day? maestagmafia?
Or did England have an ON day?
England certainly was the better team today.

Well done England, what they`ve promised in the last few games come to fruition. No excuses the better team on the day won 6Ns could be very interesting in deed.
The All Blacks in the recent past have lost 1 or 2 games per year,I expected it earlier in the year.
Did`nt look at all like there normal selves today still managed 3 converted troies
when it did`nt matter.
The record is gone 1987 reigns supreme as the best RWC winner record wise 2013 has a lot of great Rugby to look forward too.
Wales?don`t go there scrappy, lineout chaos,to many penalties in the Breakdown area both sides.Wales still threw it away in the last few minutes.
England best in the World now?they will be in the papers tomorrow IRB rankings come monday could look very different.

As Sean Fitzpatrick said that try England scored just after NZ got back to 15-14 was a body blow for them and it seem to give them massive confidence. With their tails up they seemed a massively different team.
Hopefully they can kick on from this now

Nice one view - genuine comment but gutted with your result, really thought you had them. I still think Wales, with a full team, are going to be right up there in the 6Ns.

Great result for northern hemisphere rugby, and despite our rivalries will always support England over the southern hemisphere teams. Well done England. Knew you'd be back - you now have to build on this and drag us with you.

That really was the one. You could see some of the players heads drop when nz got there second but instead of going into their shell the team stood up and came back harder. To score a proper backs try was huge for England and in the context of the game situation really turned the tables anxious set them up for the rest. Of the England players the only one who seems to lack that big game mentality isvunipola who again locked like a rabbit in headlights for the brdif time he spent .

Just got home from Twicks after managing to pick up tickets at last nights Quins/Warriors game.
Absolutley reeling still i have to say, so won't give any type of opinion. Suffice to say, it was some of the best monies i have spent in my life - think i might frame these tickets for posterity! I'll probabley be an old man when i see England put on such a sublime performance.

What a test match... Last time I saw a test match like this was the 2nd lions test in 09. Well done England, truly outstanding.
The commitment of the forwards was second to none... England look like they have found the new Johnson in launchbery.
Haven't seen brad Barrett do that since he played for the sharks... Belief is sometimes all you need.

Assured as Burns looked, I don't think he's pushed himself above Flood on the basis of a 15 minute cameo. Farrell may have though, he played really well today, and controlled the game in a way I'm not sure I've ever seen Flood do (I've seen him boss games, but never control them, if that makes sense).
Hartley and Croft must be sweating given how well their replacements played though, not sure Croft is first choice anymore TBH. Good to finally have some competition for hooker certainly.
Marler I don't think was ever in front of Corbisiero, but again, good to have some strength in depth. Must say I've been unimpressed by Vunipola, a bit too "headless chicken" for my tastes.

Re: The Original - England v All Blacks - KO 14:30 Sat 1st DEC at HQ - Match Thread/Build Up etc....
Still a little stunned by the win. Any win against the All Blacks is great, even if they were all blindfolded and had their laces tied together. Only 7 (7!!) wins against them for us says it all.
Since I'm that kind of person, we missed way too many 'easy' tackles, and some of the kicking out of hand was very poor in the first half. We were lucky they didn't counter as well as they usually do (may well be down to a structured defensive chase). Also our passing is still no good enough. Way too many are at players heads or behind them, it slows everything down and puts players off kilter. I will say Tuilagi is probably one of our best passers. They tend to be in front of the player when he's running at full pelt.
PS How much was everyone Poopie themselves just before Barritt's try? I thought they were going to rip us apart but we reacted superbly. The only problem with this is it means more Lions places (probably) which will ruin us for 2014.

And one more thing... anyone notice during the ABs 2nd try the pathetic 'tackling' from Ashton ?
Ashton is really grinding my gears lately. That non tackle and the fumbled receive when he was admiring the AB cover rather than concentrating on catching the ball.

Vunipola's yellow was a very odd decision by clancy. Otherwise he was pretty anonymous.
Just think that England had ONE player with over 50 caps in the whole 23. New Zealands front three had MORE caps then the whole England team combined and Richie Mccaw had TEN more caps then the whole England pack that he faced.

I think this is one of the few England v All Black games I'm going to watch again tomorrow. I shall try to be more analytical this time round (rather than jumping up and down at regular intervals, quietly to not wake the wife)

I thought it was fair enough. It was a pretty blatant penalty at a time when New Zealand were desperate to keep the tempo up.

Last time I looked (about some time this morning) there was only one vote for England by 14-21 and I know full well it was mine.
Suddenly 7 votes............
Me thinks 6 were placed after bets were closed.....
Glorious to be right of course but more glorious to have watched such a blinding game.
Launchbury MOM for me.
Harsh on Farrell but Burns IS the future.

Have just watch the match again after drinking copious amounts of Thatchers and have enjoyed it just as much again I would like to thank all the other NH and SH posters who have congratuled England for an excellent performance. After some of last weeks shenanigans its nice to see some of the values that we love about the game come back. Mind you we will all hate each other again come the 6n But like a match hopefully we can have a laugh and a beer after!!

Anyone would be but in terms of places marker has nothing to worry about from vunopola who's done nothing to convince. He was surely always behind corbs. Wood vs craft is always down to whichever is fit. Hartley yeah it will be a tough call to start him in the six nations if both are fit. Flood will probably now be the bench behind Farrell till they go 4 games without a try. Folders gotta be looking at the fullback situation too and wondering.

It'll be interesting to see if Farrells status at Saracens changes at all after this performance, Lancaster can ask the Prem coaches to try certain players out in positions so maybe he'll ask to see a lot more of Farrell at 10.
PSW that is now going to be the big worry isn't it? Can we back up this performance in 3 months time...will we score tries or will we go back to the bad old days of last week.

Wow.
Haven't seen an England performance that complete in years. Credit to Hansen and McCaw and the Kiwi press who took it on the chin, and I can't help shuddering a bit when I think of the target our lads have just painted on their foreheads!
Haven't seen the whole game cos I won't pay that **** Murdoch, but everyone looked pretty good. Youngs was passing well from the base most of the time and the ball was outflanking the Kiwi defence as a result. Shows the value of simple things done well.
And Dan Cole - buy a Prop, get a loose forward for free.
Oh, and the non-Tigers did quite well too.

Watched the highlights of the game today. That was an England performance that i had been expecting for some time. Proper quality rugby and outclassed the AB's on the day. That second half was probably one of the most exciting halves of rugby i have seen for sometime. In years gone by, England would have slumped after the AB's hit back with two quick try's but they really turned it on in style and crushed the AB's.
Excellent stuff, i bet there was many a drunken English fan last night walking about in disbelief

Could this be the team to take England on to 2015 rugby world cup.
Or do you think a little tweaking is required before the final team emerges.
This game yesterday kind of reminded me of the 2002 game when Wilkinson chipped over the All Blacks line to score under the post. And that team went on to become 2003 world champions.

Loads of minor tweaking.. we need a squad
Goal should be no.1 in the world before wc.

Let's see how next year goes before we start talking about the World Cup. If we win the Six Nations (Grand Slam is very possible) and win all 3 of our AIs next year (Australia, Argentina and the All Blacks), then yes, we can start talking about it and dominating the World. Until then, feet firmly on the ground. Roll on Scotland!

Well it is very possible. I didn't say probable, or expected.
