Well, we need all the help we can get...
Actually, given that half the population of the UK seems to have norovirus at the moment and the other half have coughs and colds, it could be a particularly unpleasant game.
I still hope we've had time to work on our Morris Dance response to the Haka - the one that gives us an excuse to McCaw and Carter over the head before kick-off.

Allow me to guess at his post
So not only do England have a few south africans in their squad, but now they have south african chefs too (that was the last timethe Blacks got food poisoned right)?

44 hours out from the start Read appeared at a media conference in a much better state so (for anyone whos had he runs!) plenty of time to 'firm up' and prepare for kick off.
Go get 'em boys... flush em out!...think solid...prepare to take some cra%^p, then go out and play some rugby.

Now they just need the ref to waive the offside line for the day in celebration but England don't have a Mandela like figure to get everyone to go mental do they? Boris Johnson?

It's all over the English headlines tomorrow. Potential IRB players of the year Farrell and Carter go head to head.

Keep them coming glamorganalun. Don't give up your day job Hood.
I hear Savea hasn't come down with the virus. So the game plan is simple. Pass the ball to the Big Bus and all aboard.

Hahaha, worst thing is is that a large part of my day job IS writing terrible puns. Maybe a career change is needed!
We are fast approaching the stage where one fit AB is worth 5 fit English players, if two more players recover I'd expect you to edge it. If it's 4 or 5, it's a bloodbath.
Needless to say, i am not optimistic.

Apparently there is a hearing this morning to detrermine the length of ban the IRB are going to give Noro
an IRB spokesman said "We need to flush this kind of thing out"
a spoeksman for the All Blacks said "the whole situation stinks"
I'll get my coat

well it's not like the Norovirus hasn't got previous. It always strikes from behind, then complains that the victim was lazy running.
Apparently it has issued an apology this morning, so will probably get just the 5 week ban

Classic Hood! Puns invariably fail to raise even a chuckle. My favourite though is A small boy swallowed some coins and went to hospital. As the parents intercepted a nurse in the corridor, they frantically asked her 'How is our son doing?' to which the nurse replies 'Sorry. No change yet.'

In the same hospital, a boy was born without eyelids. The doctor told the father, 'don't worry we haven't circumcised him yet...we'll use the skin from there to give him new eyelids'
The father said 'But Doctor, won't he be cockeyed?'
The Doctor said, 'yes but think of the foresight he will have'

They wont use that as an excuse. No chance. Even if its partly true. McCaw declared they were ok before the match so that shouldnt come up again. I'll be annoyed if Hansen uses it as an excuse.

Which will be to the ABs credit. I think it must have had some impact.

It's irrelevant mate. It's like putting out a rotation squad. If the victory says an opposition win, it's an AB loss and you live with that. Let's not take away from England's performance.

It will be wetter than a wet fart in the shallow end if Smith even dares to suggest that this was the reason for the defeat. I think he's too big a guy to do that, though.

Whether it did or didn't have an effect is probably irrelevant. It's one of those things that teams have to very occasionally deal with. It may have affected them but I don't think they will hide behind it. It was a very good win to England.

Why on earth was Brodie Retalick picked ahead of Luke Romano for the Twickenham match V England. Perhaps this was a selectorial blunder by the coaches or selectors.

Re: All Blacks Struck by Norovirus
Really I think it was pretty evident that fatigue and the illness added to the general not giving a poo attitude the all blacks bought to the first half. Sure it was the best all round England performance post scw but let's not pretend that something didn't knock the stuffing out of a side that has dominated for two years and who England haven't got close to in years. On the day the scoreline was deserved but on occasions we saw flashes of the real all blacks....and that isn't one that is 17 points worse than England

think you've got to give England fair dues PSW, we got dominated in every area today. Forget about the virus, McCaw won't make an excuse out of it, so no AB supporter should
It is what it is, a well deserved tonking by England!

Just for the record and not to be contraversil I have heard that there are a number of AB's being not very well post game.
Very good performance by England and well deserved win, can't help but feel sorry for the AB's though...

Re: All Blacks Struck by Norovirus
I doubt it had that much difference.
In 95 you had near all the players down and some were even vomiting on the pitch mid match.... And yet they didn't concede a try and almost won.
This one sounds like it was rather mild compared... Something every man and his dog gets at this time of year.
Mccaw plays half the season with a dozen broken bones each year no doubt... A little dose of the flu ain't going to hit that old warhorse.

I don't know for sure if it affected them but I've just had a nasty bout of the old D and V and 3 days later reckon I'm only around 75% of my normal fitness.
To me the AB's looked off the pace from mid first half so as the game wore on was bound to take it's toll
