Re: cotto update?
Haven't seen the fight but from all acounts, Trout was the deserved winner.
I hear people saying Cotto looked small against the bigger Trout so would look very small against Alvarez who's very big (not so much height but very broud) so at this stage of his career Alvarez would likely bully him as well, whilst having good speed and power albeit easy to hit.
The problem is Cotto shows no sign of dropping back to 147ibs and has hinted he can't make it anyway for he's a bit stuck.
I'd like to see him have 2-3 more fights and then retire.
He could have a brawl with Kirkland, a boxing match with Lara and maybe a finale against a rising star or faded legend to cash in one last big payday and retire financially secure and with his marbles intact.

Re: cotto update?
To be fair to Cotto he wasn't really bullied. He was usually the agressor and Trout rarely stood with him. It was only the last two rounds where Trout's size really showed in a physical sense.
Earlier on it was more Trout's range that was difficult and when Cotto now and again chose to make Trout follow him I thought he landed to cleaner shots. He wasn't dominated, but Trout was a clear enough winner.
