Came across this handy little site, have a go and see how many of the referee signals you actual know;

http://refquiz.drop22.net/

I managed 29 correct guesses...... out of 49!...... which in my world is comfort that just over half the time I'm shouting from the sidelines, I might actually be shouting the correct thing.

I got 32 but only missed some because I couldn't think of the correct wording! Quite an enjoyable quiz (when you're procrastinating)!

33, but again a few were not getting the wording. Also, a couple of the signals are a bit ambiguous without the aid of any sound or context of the game.

Also, signals like 'doctor needed' are not in my awareness, so I can accept getting ones like that wrong.

Hint - There's actually an auto-correct feature to help get the answer right.

Only got 21 Sad but I was a back so my excuse is I didn't need to know the scrum or lineout ones.

Very true MunsterMac. If you think a signal might have something to do with, say, the scrum then type in scrum and you will see an auto correct list with all the options for scrum. Unfortunately, the 'I don't know so I'm just going to blow my whistle and give a penalty to a team' isn't there as an option.
Or;

- I've got no balls so I'll check upstairs

- You're Ritchie McCaw so that mustn't be foul

- I know they're the Ozzy front row and they can't scrummage but it was obviously you who collapsed this scrum when you have been dominating for the entire game

- or that signal to award a try when it was frickin obvious that a different ball was used for a quick lineout to the one that ended up in row U of the stand.
