My fave about Gervinho is his Wiki entry:

Gervinho, is an Ivorian footballer who plays as a forward for English Premier League club Arsenal. He is known for his pace and finishing.

He is known for his finishing? What that it's as accurate as a stormtrooper?

Gervinho reminds me of Andy Cole. On his day he can actually be quite dangerous, but other days he's ridiculously clumsy and useless.

Difference is, Andy Cole scored goals. Gervinho doesn't. You couldn't leave Cole unmarked, while you could get away with playing no defenders with Gervinho on the pitch.

He's more like Benjani than Andy Cole

Chelsea will step up their pursuit of Corinthians midfielder Paulinho, 24, after Oriol Romeu was ruled out for the rest of the season.
So thats Chelsea & Man City who both want him now. Its all about Paulinho!

Gervinho can dribble well and that about it. Poor control, poor finishing & very poor decision making IMO. Dotn release the ball when he should and end up carrying the ball too far/long into a dead end. Most of the time that is.

Watched the Arsenal highlights on SSN this morning. Did anyone else think that the Bradford pitch looked like the old astro turf ones you used to get at QPR for example?

Northern Irish, for some reason.

Not for men though, it sounds terrible, but it makes women sound hot to me.

Think Wneger is just playing stubborn with Walcott. He hasnt signed a contract so Wenger doesnt play him enough or where he want to play.

We're coming at this from different ends of the spectrum!

I can't listen to Geordie accents on women anymore because I saw Geordie Shore and they were all massive sluts. Bristol creeps me out. My boss has a slight accent like it and it sounds weird to me.

Scottish I like too though.

Posh for me, then Northern Irish (southern irish is a big turn off), then Scottish. I don't like most regional accents.

My work has all its distribution sent from Plymouth and I have to regularly telephone down to chase orders going out, the women there all sound filthy with their accent.
Give me a Ginger with a West Country accent and I'm happy.

How about Liverpool? They always sound really slutty. A bit mean slutty, but still.

We use a CDM consultancy from Bristol and they have the weirdest voices when they phone. They speak awful slowly too...

The Northern Irish girl wanted me to check some invoices on jobs that aren't mine, but rather than pass it to the relevant people I'm going to do it anyway so I can call her back and bask in the accent again.

Essex accents are worse to me. I mean real horrid ones like "awss" instead of horse or "furrock" instead of Thurrock. I could never put up with it for long.

Scouse & Geordie are bad. Someone mentioned Bristol above, I agree they talk really slow and it kinda make them sound a bit thick.

I have a proper Northern accent, all Hovis style where I say T'mill instead of The Mill and use words like Reet proper and grand.

Actually yes, agree. the stupid tv program highlighted it to the nation too.

When you say "Dudley" aloud, do you do it in a Dudley accent automatically? It can't just be me.

My accent is very non-descript. You couldn't pick up much of anything from it I don't think, just generic southern.

I don't have a really strong Norfolk accent, but it's a pretty decent one.

I believe it is compulsory to say Dudley in a Dudley accent isn't it. I found it impossible not to. I also say Norfolk in (my own version of) a Norfolk accent.

Whenever I need to speak with a Welsh accent (need is a strong word) I say ratatouille. It sounds great in Welsh voices.

I have booked myself onto a re-Anglicisation to purge myself. It was inevitable having lived there for 10 years.

That sounds a bit like the Justin Lee Collins approach to getting his Tom Jones impression right. He uses the words Metamorphosis and Wycliff
