Best wishes
Seeing as no-one else appears willing to do this, I will.
I'm sure many of us won't be in Monday or next week so here is your thread to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
I think 2012 has been a good year for the forum, with the one notable exception of Windy passing on, but I am sure he would be happy with how the place has carried on in his memory. There still remains some great characters, old and new, and some really good debate has been had this year.
Personally, I would like to wish you all a great Christmas and New Year and good luck to you all in 2013.
Tina.

Cheers, Tina. I'm surprised you can even raise a smile at Christmas with four kids to buy for, let alone your spirits!
Have a good one though, fella. And Merry Christmas to all.

I just drink a lot of booze, Chris. Helps me numb the pain of funding it all. Helps me ignore the screaming and arguing as well, and that's just me and Mrs Windows!
Have a good one mate. I hope your Yorkshire lady doesn't give you a tough time for spending too much on her. They are a tight bunch over the Pennine's.

Merry Xmas everyone.
As Tina said, the forum is a much sadder place for the loss of Windy but I'm heartened by the fact we have continued to keep it going in the manner (I believe) he would have wanted.
Another 12 months of great action in the ring, of utter dross, missed opportunities, minor classics and the usual shenanigans that make this sport the one we know and love (and occasionally hate).
Cheers fellas

Re: Best wishes
Merry christmas all round, as others have said Windy's sad passing aside has not been a bad year. I would promise to be a bit more cheery next year but given I hit 40 next year this may be a promise I struggle to live up to.

Happy Xmas and a prosperous New Year to almost all of you! May your presents be huge and your reservoirs of goodwill overflow endlessly.
Obviously folk from Yorkshire don't go in for that sort of nonsense, but I also wish Jeff, Dave and anyone else from God's own county the very best for Xmas as well. I trust that those captive moths have been released from your wallets and that you will be breaking into the secret stash of smiles and good cheer that you lot hoard for 364 days of the year.

Don't fear hitting 40 Jeff...I hit it (with a spinning backfist) and knocked it spark out.
This year I hit 41 almost literally. Went to Manchester for the "Stick it to MS" world record attempt for the largest full kit ensemble. 798 wannabe rockstarts and people wanting to raise money for research into MS set a new Guiness World record (only just verified in the last couple of weeks).
42 is trembling in a corner....

I was tempted but I think Sean might of left yesterday and I thought 1 person leaving was enough. Plus I wouldn't be able to cope with all the PM's asking me to stay.
Merry Christmas to you to, PP.

Cheers Tino
I echo that, don't always contribute as much as I used to, but still read every thread and there is a great mixture of characters on here, it's been a very good year and the passing of the greatly missed Windy united what is essentially a group of strangers to a surprising degree.
Merry Christmas to one and all.

Re: Best wishes
What is a reasonable Christmas budget for a girlfriend of 5 years? Gave mine 800 quid to spend... Get the feeling she wasn't overly impressed. Thought I was being pretty generous actually.
I'm not a bloody millionaire.
Maybe it's the lack of thought.
Oh well.

800 quid? You clearly don't live with her then!
My girlfriend is a gamer girl so I got her Halo and some Paco Rabane perfume to smell good while doing the dishes.
I got her a coat too, she thinks its for casual outdoorwear, when really its to stop her getting ill from blasting the patio free of leaves over the winter.

Yeah, shacked up with her the lot... Wouldn't have it any other way, who else is going to cook my tea!
Are you supposed to become less generous when you live together?

Re: Best wishes
Lumbering - not really - it just pays to nick the odd twenty quid out of her purse three or four times a day then give her quarter of it to spend on whatever she likes and a quarter to buy her a thoughtful present. With the half left over buy some buddha/alcohol and have a bloody good christmas.
Re: Best wishes
Her parents have us 8000 pound last month. I let her buy a new coat which I thought was pretty generous of me.

Yeah, cos it becomes very much a competition for who can spend the least on anything to have hat little bit left over at the end of the month. Made the mistake of inviting family and friends around for Christmas Lunch, then gave her my credit card.
Honestly, how can you spend £230 in Tesco these days without pushing 2/3 trollies?
Yeah, thats me urine poor for January. All donations welcome.
