Think you lot should sign our youngster Sham Fenelon on loan. Could do with a season loan at a league one club, and he is from the area i believe. He has played a few games this season, but just needs to get more aggressive. Great first touch and pace though.

Re: The unofficial "No-one cares about Crawley Town" thread
Defeat at home to Bradford was poor, but three narrow away defeats in the space of a week to superior sides in Sheffield United, Norwich City and MK Dons isn't what I would call a collapse. We had a tough August, won first three but they were tough too, Barnsley away, Swindon at home and Ipswich at home!
Wait until we've played Cambridge (JPT), Rochdale and Fleetwood before judging us.

Re: The unofficial "No-one cares about Crawley Town" thread
Correct. By the fact the Football League determines who stays up is based on attendances we're going down.
Oh.
Except it's not
I can't defend that TBH, we're a small club, punching above our weight, in a league where the majority of our away games are up north, we were never going to be taking hundreds away.
Already this season we've played away to;
Barnsley (432 mile round trip), Sheff Utd (415 mile round trip), Norwich (304 mile round trip), MK Dons (190 mile round trip), Doncaster (422 mile round trip) and Preston (516 mile round trip). It's only September and some fans have had to travel over 2200 miles just to see half a dozen away games. And we're expected to travel in big numbers?

You're points are very valid and I realise I'm in the wrong, sorry. You and Sir Sam Jordan should be going to every game though imo. Also still got to be taking 1000 fans to Gillingham.

A win! Woo!
Crawley, 5 shots, 1 goal. Walsall, 25 shots, 0 goals. Should have been smashed again but 3 vital points and now we've got a run of winnable games, unbeaten run would be much appreciated.

I like how you're sat waiting for a bite.
Only 93 away fans made the trip, although the recent football has been garbage.

Re: The unofficial "No-one cares about Crawley Town" thread
I wanted Gregory gone, but for footballing reasons. This is the worst scenario. Gregory isn't sacked, his idiot assistant Paul Groves remains at the club, Gregory's mate Dean Saunders takes over (who by the way got his last two clubs relegated), and whereas if Gregory got sacked we could bring in someone with his own backroom staff to save our season, now we have to give Saunders and Groves time and if they get the sack it'll be too late to do anything else.
Still going tomorrow, must have some kind of fetish for disappointing football.

Awful performance today. Really bad. Zero shots on target at home to Colchester, Colchester who hit the post/bar on four separate occasions and had a goal disallowed. Dean Saunders needs to work miracles to make us stay up.

Re: The unofficial "No-one cares about Crawley Town" thread
Couldn't get to the match today Marky but listened to the radio commentary. Sounded like we had the better of the game and maybe deserved to come away with the three points. However, with only four points won from a possible nine over the Christmas period against three relegation rivals, I am also now very pessimistic about our chances of staying up. Guess we might still meet next season albeit in League 2!

Re: The unofficial "No-one cares about Crawley Town" thread
Joe Walsh was outstanding in defence for us, man of the match by a mile. Did well to keep a clean sheet considering three of our back four were midfielders.
On another day you don't keep hitting the frame and walk away with the points. We were very fortunate but Dean Saunders has a couple of weeks now to make changes (next week was Chesterfield away but they've got FA Cup duties)

Re: The unofficial "No-one cares about Crawley Town" thread
Team for MK could be promising. If everyone's fit and those who John Gregory froze out were available;
Jensen
Oyebanjo - Leacock - Walsh - Dickson
Young/Miller - Elliott - Simpson - Edwards
McLeod - Harrold

We’re interviewing Crawley Town Academy coach Mark Beard tonight, let me know if you have any questions?
Re: The unofficial "No-one cares about Crawley Town" thread
Sorry I missed it, but would have asked;
With the issues on Saturday where Matt Harrold had to go in goal after Brian Jensen's injury, was there not an option for an academy goalkeeper to take a place on the bench?

Re: The unofficial "No-one cares about Crawley Town" thread
Also, Whitehawk 6-1 Crawley Town XI.
Adding the "XI" after our name to emphasise how it was mostly squad players including three youth teamers, a non contract goalie and a trialist in midfield (we'll never see him again).
Still embarrassing but not as bad as it looks, especially when Whitehawk have players who would do a job for our first team (Kissock and Torres to name but two)

Mark Beard was quite interesting - he said Crawley have closed their academy so he said he own with the kids from the academy

You've got to be very optimistic to think Crawley Town can stay up.
I've accepted relegation, I just hope I'm wrong.

Tbf you don't belong in league one and I'm honestly saying that with no disrespect what so ever. League 2/Confrence Prem is you're level.

Because we have a small fanbase? Small stadium? You don't half talk nonsense.
The only reason we don't belong in League One is because our squad and management isn't good enough.

Small fan base, small ground and small club. Also as you rightfully said a poor team now as well.

Size of fanbase is irrelevent, size of ground is irrelevent, and size of club is irrelevent.
Fanbases don't mean anything, simple as that.

Bit of a joke how? You haven't actually given any valid responses yet.
Chesterfield are a decent League One side, we are struggling but this is the shocking job John Gregory has done. I don't envy Dean Saunders at all. Hopefully Saturday at home to Preston we can pull off an upset and end our winless streak.

Port Vale have signed Greg Luer on loan from Hull. Really surprised you lot didn't sign him on loan, Sussex boy and that, also I understand upfront is you're main cause for concern?

We've got enough strikers (they're just not good enough), and we're at our limit with loanees. We can't bring in another striker without shipping out someone, so we're stuck with Izale McLeod, Matt Harrold, Gavin Tomlin and Dean Morgan.

I don't mind being wrong sometimes.
We've just signed Mathias Pogba, free agent striker who was playing in Serie B with Pescara earlier this season, on trial with Den Haag and Kilmarnock and has joined Crawley until the end of the season! Decent record when he was at Crewe last season. Also his brother Paul is a handy midfielder, maybe he could have a word with him...

I dunno who was worst last night Marky you or us.
Looks like along with Yeovil and Orient we're getting a bit cut adrift of Coventry in the safety of 20th place.

Yet Dean Saunders on Monday was talking about getting promotion to the Championship...
We're not out of it, got plenty of winnable home games but our away form needs sorting out. 7-8 wins needed isn't impossible even when we're that bad. I accepted our likely relegation to League Two in December, but its sad when there's no fight left.

Two wins in a row and all of a sudden we're dreaming again...
I didn't go to Swindon, but I did take in Horsham 3-4 Three Bridges, a fun game if not the thriller it looks like it was. Was 1-4 at 90 mins, two injury time goals made Horsham look better than they were.

I didn't mind Saunders coming in but we still need to make changes to the backroom, it's Saunders with Gregory's coaches. I know Gregory is still officially the manager but on sick leave, but majority of reds fans want Gregory out and Saunders to get the job permanently.
