Marky is struggling to get on atm as he's broke his laptop so I'm taking the reins on this for the remainder.
If you haven't voted get them in by 11am.
And I'll get the results up at lunchtime and the next fixture, please have your team sheets in by midnight. If you don't post a teamsheet I'll just use the one from the first round.

I honestly don't see how we can fit in an 8=match tournament when the league matches re-start next week...we haven't had one game yet and it's already 2 Jan! Why don't we just cancel it, save us all the trouble and stress?

It's 3 games thats all so we can blast through it sharpish.

From the 8 teams then there will be 4 winners.
So Round 2 is two pots of four.

Pot A then is drawn between themselves, the same with Pot B.
Winner A v Winner B
Winner C v Winner D
Loser A v Loser B
Loser C v Loser D

From that then there will only be two teams on two wins, similar to a normal knockout tournament, but it will have all the ther teams still playing 1 game as well. Think of it as a knockout format but the other teams still play.

Well if that's the case, we need to get the games done as follows:

Results = today
Game 2 tactics by = midnight tomorrow
Voting and results = Friday
Game 3 tactics yb = midnight Sunday
Game 3 voting and results = Monday

So that Lawyers, injuries etc get done on Tuesday.

FC No Respek Game 2:

------ Jack Butland
---- Leonardo Bonucci
Cheick Tiote - Steven Gerrard
--------- Demba Ba

Tactics:
Butland - close down the angles, distribute to a free man.
Bonucci - mark their striker, sweep up from behind.
Tiote - get stuck in, dominate physically
Gerrard - box to box, run your socks off to support Ba
Ba - shoot every chance you get, 5-a-side is all about getting as many shots on target as possible.

Overall strategy: hustle, muscle, press, keep it moving forwards.

I have to say, this is quite flawed. People not voting doesn't give us great numbers for results, and we're getting decent sums of money for not much at all...I would pull the cash prizes and just give a 'kudos' award or something.

Moleicester v Deutschie

Friedel
Ledesma
Holtby Draxler
Huntelaar

Work as a unit attack together and defend together. Let them have ball in own half close them down in ours. Ledges a start attacks from deep, Holtby box to box support attack and defence, Draxler get on the ball run at them through balls to attackers, Huntelaar always on move get involved with attacks take your chances.

Adler
Godin
Shaqiri Gaitan
Mandzukic

attack is the best form of defense. Godin should always stay back, with Gaitan and Shaqiri creating and running all over the pitch. Mandzukic should use his srrength and shooting abilities to score goals. Adler should stop the other team from.scoring.

Rolling subs
Son - use pace to torment defense
Cleverley - sit deep and create

------ Caballero -------
------ Dominguez -----
--- Isco --- Mkhitaryan --
----- Soldado (c) -------

Keep ball, simple little triangles
Isco/Mkhitaryan to operate in the space that Soldado makes
Soldado to drag their defensive players out of position
Fast paced movement, Caballero to throw the ball out to Isco/Mkhitaryan

Juan Carrs

Iraizoz
Amorebieta
Fellaini-Eriksen
Muniain

Subs: De Marcos, Varane

Team talk
Amorebieta to stay back, ensure no-one gets through, Fellaini to come from deep and power with the ball, use physical strength. Eriksen and Muniain to use intelligence and one touch play to create chances and space.

Two sets of tactics left to submit - Olly and Nando. Get them in lads, then we can get cracking with voting!

Hero - any thoughts on the prize money issue? We're not exactly doing much to earn £5m, which is a LOT of money. Maybe do a £1m prize for the winner and the £1m participation fee for all of us?

Bunga Bunga

Di Gennaro
Barzagli---Ranocchia---Chico
-------------Diame--------------

Tactics:

Ultra defensive, throw bodies on the line, back 3 with Diame screening.
In attack it's Diame only. Diame just run through people, you can get away with murder in 5-a-side

Olly - only half the league is taking part, it's 2mins to write tactics, not everyone is voting (poor form lads), yet the winner gets £5m? That's not fair on those not taking part - who, let's not forget, aren't taking part because they're on holiday, not because they don't want to.

Plus rules were it was taking place over XMas, whilst it appears to be largely taking place after Xmas. So you can't change the timing rules, but keep the prize rules.

I didn't enter because it was supposed to be happening whilst I was away from a PC. If we had known it was a January cup, more would have entered.

I say, go with Azzy's suggestion, except anyone who votes against the consensus, gets nothing...

I refuse to take part until the prize money is reverted to it's original standing. I'm not standing for this. Do you think the Premier League clubs would stand for it if the TV money was reduced during the season? No. It's a democracy goddammit

I understood that this was the prize terms

5m to the winner
3m to the runner up
2m for the losing semi finalists
1m for anyone else that takes part.

I only took part on them terms mainly cos 5 a side is a luck game where you can put any score and no one will complain and i wanted the money king

It's not tactical voting it's 5 a side it's just shoot on sight leading to a goalfest if you have 3 defenders your really not going to concede as many as someone who plays 1 defender picard

You've clearly never played 5-a-side, any team that plays 3 at the back gets pinned on its own goal line, can't get past the halfway line, and gets absolutely mullered picard

Viva is the authority on the smaller version of the game, he'll tell you the exact same thing. I used to work at Goals, so I've refereed probably 500+ games and played as a sub in a few hundred too.

Your only complaining cos i have you down as a loss. Don't like it, Don't agree that's your problem Azzy it's not going to change my result thumbsup

Ive played 5 a side football almost excluding injuries every week for the last 3 years if you can defend well enough you can easily outscore your opponent weather you play 3 at the back or not just by going on the counter. We're in a modern age where defenders are actually decent footballers censored not just people who throw themselves in the way of everything

you don't see me complaining about you putting me down as loss against your loverboy Viva OK

Nando, I couldn't care less about the result. I really couldn't. Someone last week had me down for a loss because 'Parker wasn't man-marking the AM', when it clearly stated Tiote was Laugh

I've yet to come up against a 5-a-side defender with skills. Your best players should be up front, getting shots on goal. Defence does not win you games - at least not down my way.

I put Viva down for a loss in his first game, so while he may be my loverboy, I object to your insinuations young man furious

Laugh

For the record, this is the last time I'll allow this league to do public voting. If it means I have to do the scores, so be it.
