IRPA Try of the Year 2012 Empty IRPA Try of the Year 2012

Just saw this video to the 2012 try of the year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=rNcncFY6-qQ Seems pretty bare so I have to wonder if that is the full list of nominees. Usually there are a few from the minnow nations and personally Madagascar in their RWC qualifying game deserve a try.

From that list I'd probably give it to the Frenchman Malzieu. Can anyone think of a better try to add to the list? No doubt a few England posters would like to put forward Tuilagi as a candidate!

Just saw Bryan Habana took the award:http://www.irb.com/newsmedia/mediazone/pressrelease/newsid=2064369.html . Good reward for a player that came back into some great form this year and the individual chip and chase is always a pleaser but I still think Malzieu's was a better effort.

All wingers get the nomination: http://www.irb.com/newsmedia/mediazone/pressrelease/newsid=2064369.html

Can anyone think of their favourite try from a forward or a player who isn't a winger?

I was surprised Jonathan Davies try against Ireland wasn't nominated, where North smashed through 2 Irish tacklers then offloaded out of the back of his hand for Davies to run in under the posts.

All the nomination this year seemed to be scored from far out, regardless of the skill required to score.

Agree that JD's try should have been in there, watching the video compilation that first one on the list was desperately average.

I agree that even in that match there were better tries. Like the one where there was good hands from forwards and backs and Jane scored in the corner. Seemed some odd choices. Surely there was better during the year. This year was not a great one for attacking rugby and I get the judges had little to work with this year given the list.

I don't normally approve of music in a video but I must say this isn't a bad compilation of hits and tries from 2012: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-J2vxn6ztz4

We see tries as good as the Julian Savea try every week.

Incidentally NZ should have been penalised at the scrum as prop had no bind, also would love to see another angle as I suspect Savea was offside from kick.
