Miguel Angel Jiminez... ouch!
Miguel has broken his leg in a skiing accident in Andalucia. He now has two pins in his tibia just below the knee and is looking at c. 5 months out of action.

The biggest surprise to me in this story is that you can Ski in Andalucia! I didn't think they had hills high enough for snow in the region... turns out they have hills that are plenty high enough and some great runs.

MAJ skis?
There's never a good time to break bones but with his 49th birthday due in a few days, one has to wonder if he will recover full fitness. Here's hoping for the best.
Happy New Year everyone btw.

Fitness and Jiminez are not two words often in the same sentence.
He should have stuck to snowboarding, then he'd only have done a collarbone.

MAJ actually works very hard on fitness. Maybe not pumping iron, but he does a lot of flexibility exercises to make sure he is "fit for golf". There was an article on him in Golf Monthly a couple of month ago.
Hope he's back sooner rather than later. I'm sure he will regain full fitness. I know it's not quite so dramtic, but I broke a wrist at the age of 52. It took 3 to 4 months but I eventually got back to playing as well as before.

Sort of place you'd only go to if you happened to be in the area, Sierra Nevada, Andorra the same. You wouldn't choose to go there over a week in the Austrian Alps for instance.
