Good shout on Evans and Subotic
Kompany should be in on first half of the year.
Pique and Godin haven't been that great this year though IMO.

What about that other CB that lives on form from 3/4 years ago? What was his name again..............? I think he was Italian, or maybe some kind of Spanish.

I don't know who you mean.
He has actually had a pretty good last couple of months to be fair to him, so his real life form is starting to move closer to his pretend league ratings

Yeah he's bang on form currently, same actually with Evra and Rafael, we all mock them but both have been a lot better form wise currently.

If you're including Hummels and Subotic, surely you should include Badstuber too. First half of the year helped Bayern Munich make the Champions League final, looked pretty equal to Hummels for most of Euro 2012, and has been part of the Bayern side running away with the Bundesliga this season.

Dominguez, Ruiz and Rami - definately agree
Masch - has been better than Pique.
Sakho - not had his finest 12 months, but still a good player
Badstuber - not a fan. He is too error prone. Dante has been the man for them this season, rather than Badstuber

Interesting article on BR today, Spanish starting XI not including any Barce/Madrid players:
Guaita
Juanfran - Dominguez - Ruiz - Monreal
Benat - Arteta
Mata - D.Silva - Cazorla
Soldado

Re: Euro Division Homepage XLV
Arteta - he's the last man who'd ever get selected for Spain. England really should have converted him when they had the chance, he'd have been fantastic foil for Gerrard the last 3-4 years.

Guaita? Surely Diego Lopez gets in ahead of him in goal! Or even De Gea!

You also have the likes of de Gea, Isco Navas and Javi Martinez not included

That was the team they selected as opposed to my own thoughts.
I'd go for De Gea in goal. Isco over Silva.

Nothing says "overhyping your own" than Isco over Silva. Even though Silva isn't in the best of form, i'd have him over Isco (who is very good) every time.

I think I agree with all of Marky's team, other than I would have Juanfran over Azpilicueta.
You can't have Isco over Silva really. Silva gets into their team with Barca and Real players included.

Yeah, Silva over Isco sadly. Maybe next season that's reversed, but Silva still has that spark that separates the man from the boy.

I've never seen the big fuss with Silva. Poor mans Mata really
When was the last time Silva was amazing for City?!

Re: Euro Division Homepage XLV
The thing with Silva is that expectation is high. Even when he is off form, he is still better than most, it's just that you expect more.
When on form, he is up there with the likes of Fabregas, Iniesta etc

When on form Silva is better than Cesc, but then again so is Mata. I would never put Silva in the same bracket as Iniesta though.

Agree on Mata.
We are talking about when playing at their best. The reason Iniesta is that much of a better player, is that he does it game after game, every season. He always plays at that level.

Must be a nightmare having such a dirth in talent as attacking midfield options with Iniesta, Silva, Cazorla, Mata, Fabregas, Michu, Isco, Herrera, Thiago, Arteta, Valero, De Marcos all available.
How they must envy us with the likes of Henderson, Gerrard, Cleverley, Cole, Nolan, Young, Lampard etc.
And they don't even have Scholes+

Following his permanent move to West Ham, Liverpool will still be paying Joe Cole more per week than West Ham will.

£30k a week for Joe Cole, that's a great deal for West Ham.

£5m for Debuchy
I still can't believe he is going to Newcastle for that price. I keep waiting to hear that someone has gazzumped them at the last minute.
He'd be a great signing for Man U. Far better RB than they have atm

Shock breaking news about a Balotelli/Mancini bust-up in training, pictures emerging today.
Surely now its time to sell Balotelli. Milan/Juve linked.

Those photos are not exactly 'bust-up' though, to me it looks like Mancini has a go at Balotelli, who gets confrontational, Mancini grabs him, then it's separated. Not exactly Hartson-Berkovic stuff
