Good boxing news websites or blogs?
I've always just perused the various forums now and again and picked up snippets of information from other posters here and there, etc, but wondered if there are any news sites or (well-written) blogs that are worth checking out.
I've had a look around and can't find many reliable ones. Lately, i've been having a quick look at the headlines on BoxingNews24.com each morning, but the articles are appalling, and it seems like most of their writers only contribute to essentially wind up their readers, regularly via pointed, unproductive, trolling articles (and quite often to the detriment of British fighters).
Other than that, i just read the news section on BoxRec, which is pretty reliable and quick with UK fight news.
Can anyone recommend any good sites to read?
Thanks in advance.

Eastside Boxing and Boxingscene are the best.
Go on youtube too. UKwingchunstudent and dwyer give epic predictions. As does Gamebino when he can be bothered to post.

As my posting tends to suggest my preference is for the old timers, if this floats your boat the cyber boxing zone is pretty much invaluable, the Mike Casey Archives on there are outstanding. Similarly coxs corner has some decent stuff as does the IBRO website. Of the modern stuff, god only knows.

I wonder if some of the writers on there actually like boxing, because they seem to be more interested in letting the internet know they have strong opinions on things. It seems they simply pick the most contrary point of view on any fighter or issue in order to reel people in, much like the Daily Mail or TalkSport do.
I find it strange, even surreal that fight fans choose to adopt such a staunch position on fighters. I think they do it because they don't particularly understand the technical aspects of the sport, so just talking loudly, constantly, in their eyes, sort of gives the impression they know what they're talking about.
One of the main reasons i like boxing is because it isn't a tribal sport, like football or rugby. We'll all have preferences when it comes to styles, even favourite fighters or trainers, but bar occasions when there are big fights between fighters from rival cities, occasionally countries, it's not really about choosing sides for me, or even about having big opinions.

V2Journal.com or thecutman.wordpress.com, not that I'm biased or anything
Other than that I normally have a quick read over ESB.

This is decent, not just a sit on the fence type of articles but opinions being used.

I actually like ESB, ESNEWS by Eli Seckbach is very good for the American game, likewise iFilmLdnProductions is fantastic for the British game. iFilm show virtually every weigh in, interview every single person, trainer, boxer, promoter about all of the fights. They don't take themselves too seriously either, they have a bit of a laugh in the interviews and you can tell they are all genuine fans of the game who are doing the interviews.

Gamebino is absolutely hilarious, his 'Uncle Pactard KFC Chicken' gag is brilliant. I also very much like BoxingInfo, he is extremely knowledgeable of past and present fighters and also Big Ragu is another good one who has just started posting again.

IFilm London is great if you have Adam Booth and the host on the same screen, Tony Bellew is also hilarious!

Boxing News 24 isn't serious although I always visit it, because its hilarious.
-> Scott Gilfoid hates on all British fighters.
-> Chris Williams hates on Filipino fighterss.
-> Dan Ambrose hates on Puerto-Rican fighters.
Then the rest just pick and choose.

Re: Good boxing news websites or blogs?
BoxingNews24 is the worst of the worst.
Only use three sites every day, and thanks to these I no longer have to fork out on BN or Boxing Monthly. Probably missed a good few articles lately but there you are:-
boxingscene, eastside, and this one.
Read a very good article on BadLeftHook once. For old stuff, Cyber I imagine is where you'd go first.
IFilm is good on youtube and the Sri Lankan Koogan Cassius has his own style.

Re: Good boxing news websites or blogs?
Hi long time reader first time poster, so thought I'd ease myself in. Of those mentioned I'm a big fan of Eastside boxing while skysports will always cover the sports bigger stories in good depth.
One that's not mentioned but I find is normally well written and unbiased is proboxing-fans.com, it is more aimed towards the American scene but has does have some good British articles as well. At the moment has a really in depth division by division preview of the British scene for 2013.

Re: Good boxing news websites or blogs?
ESB has gone to the dogs. They just don't seem to have any submission criteria. Has anyone read some of the recent articles on there? Especially anything by Michael Collins. To save you the trouble, they go something like this:
Title: David Haye wants Vitali but Vitali will win
David Haye wants to fight Vitali Klitschko but I don't think he should bother as his brother has already beaten Haye and Haye would lose to Vitali Klitschko as well if they fought which I don't think they will but they might.
David Haye has said he would knock Vitali out but he didn't knock Wlad out so how will he knock Vitali out even though Vitali is slowing up a bit now but he still won't knock him out?
Amir Khan and Carl Froch also say they want to fight Danny Garcia and Andre Ward again but I don't think that they should or that these will happen any time soon but if they did they would lose if they fought again even if it was or wasn't soon.
Yeah. They go something like that. But with more mistakes. Come to think of it, I think Michael Collins might be Spring... or possibly a close relation.

I would recommend you read some of Gordy's musings Qoxiivi, the similarity between him and Collins, based on your impression, is uncanny.

Re: Good boxing news websites or blogs?
Anyone could post on Eastside -- they'll take absolutely anything. Make something up and try it.
The blogs I posted about earlier are seriously worth investing time in if you're looking for quality writing (Bad Left Hook tends to concentrate more on being first with updates and results).

Re: Good boxing news websites or blogs?
Have to agree with the sentiment, Eastside has gone to the dogs. Just not the same site it was was say even two years ago. Don't read many articles on there nowadays.
Still can pick up a lot of things on the comments section though.
Micky- had a look at proboxing-fans last night, and that reminded me, I saw it the other day re the upcomoming Salido/Garcia fight. Not bad, not bad at all. But they could do some work on the layout. Simplicity is the key. Simple homepage. Ultra simple. And simple navigation.
