Merthyr Ospreys supporters, you've shown us your banner now show yourselves!

You are regulary at Ospreys games, perhaps more often than Swansea, Bridgend and Neath residents, sporting your 'Merthyr supports Ospreys, the one true region' banner. The Ospreys have infringed copyright by stealing your slogan. You've been attending Ospreys games for years and now all of a sudden #OneTrueRegion flags are being sold which generates profit not for Merthyr, but for the Ospreys.

Next items: Why do you support them? Why are they the One True Region? And what more do they do for rugby in your community than the Blues? LD, I'm looking at you here.

What facts are you basing the Ospreys doing most around their region? I'll give you playing a nothing game on the road is more than anyone else has done, but none of your other arguments hold up!

Ospreys still play in the traditional Neath black, and until recently used Swansea white as an away, whereas the Dragons designed a new kit change in black and red years ago, and theyre away kit has always been a new strip.

Are you really saying the Ospreys season ticket giveaway has anything to do with regional community work? Or a product they couldn't sell and decided to try to give away and hope it became attractive after a certain period when so many have been offered it for nothing (similar to the shirt sales strategy for the last 10 years)

Having had first hand experience in training camps, development programmes, festivals etc I can TELL you the Dragons are the hardest working region, followed by the Ospreys and Scarlets who do similar.

The issue I have is that the Dragons have not come out and claimed that the rest of Wales is shoite, whereas that is exactly what the Ospreys have done, and this is all a case of tell them and they will beleive it garbage, because you clearly have.

I will concede points in which you have first hand experience in numerous regions, until then you just sound like a beligerant Blues fan throwing his toys out of the pram.

And as a Blues fan it brings me no joy in stated that they are by far the worst of the 4, although those along the A470 are not innocent they are nearly as much of the problem!

As a Blues fan it brings me no joy in saying that the Dragons do the most in their region, it brings me no joy in stating the Ospreys do similar to what the Scarlets do and not as much as the Dragons!

How can you say that it is garbage bluesman ? The Ospreys are doing things in their region that others are not. Also I am not a beligerant Blues fan, and I am not throwing my toys out of my pram, I am just stating the truth and that is:-

The Ospreys take LV cup games out of Swansea
The Ospreys do play in Swansea but they use the colours of Neath
The Ospreys have dropped their town and city names Cardiff and Newport have not
The Dragons might have changed their kit design but they are still traditionally black and gold
I am not debating what each team does around their region as regards to training sessions and the what not, but the only other region that has followed the Ospreys in what they are doing is the Scarlets, but that only goes as far as dropping Llanelli from their name and then they are just like everybody else. Why don't the Blues,Dragons or the Scarlets take games out of their main base of operations, why don't they do a season ticket offer like the Ospreys have done, because they do not sell any more tickets then the Ospreys, I will concede that none of the regions do enough but the Ospreys are making all the right noises and the others aren't.

Why don't the O's use their feeder clubs? Why don't the O's help their feeder clubs? Why don't the O's respect their feeder clubs premises instead of throwing buckets of sick all over them? The only fact here is you were mug enough to buy into a daft marketing slogan that you connot demonstrate a shred of evidence to support.

And why do they use the colours of Neath? Exactly!

Once again your ignoring points that make your argument defunct, how does the season ticket offer make a case for regional representation? It is a give away marketing strategy, will the Ospreys care if all the free tickets are taken by those who live within a mile of the stadium?!

Also lets not count these freebies as sales, they are not sales they are giveaway incentives, like the 3 games for £35 offer the O's just did for 3 non competitive games whereas the Dragons sell tickets for £10 a pop anyway!!!

Regarding the issue after working in all 4 regions to some extent, and being born and bread in Cardiff I think I'm in a position to judge best who does what around each region, and IMO it is the Dragons who are regional friendliest, and do so without damaging the game in South Wales.

As I mentioned earlier LD, how would you feel if the Dragons and Blues produced a tagline on their website of...

'Only euro threat in Wales'

or

'Only region financially viable'

Well done lads.... not only do our teams poor performance in the HC (yet again), put Welsh Rugby down with the also rans, but your bickering and petty fighting adds to self destruction just before the 6 Nations.... Am I the only one who could see the WUM in Mog's opening post....

There is no regions in Welsh Rugby, just 4 super clubs set up to try and help the national side. I do sometimes wonder if it would have been best to leave them alone in the first place. All we have succeeded in doing is rip the heart out of the game in Wales, and put us in a position of no return.

Would we have won 3 Slams without the "regions"... who knows. They players would have still been there. Ok, they may have taken pay-cheques to play outside of Wales, but they would still have been there....

...anyway, I digress... My point is, whether we have super clubs, regions, one true region, blah blah blah... We have what we've got. Lets pull together and make it work, not fight to destroy it from within.

Thats my point exactly, first the 'west is best' slogan that everyone could overlook, bigging up yourselves in your own stadium is fair enough, but to then plaster the website with the tripe of 'one true region' not only will it get peoples backs up on a net forum but people within the game will feel the same thing, not to mention the outside world looking at it and laughing!

With this the Ospreys have done more damage to Welsh rugby than when they set Holley onto the Beeb! It's just poor taste and very poor timing.

What happens if a player as important as Warburton takes this as offence and it splits the welsh national camp? We might be in for a spoon this year, and this could be partly to blame!

Cheers everyone for their apologies (including Stone Motif who emailed his in), I'm aware that several of you were posting things in jest, and most of those comments that I deleted were only marginal for "hitting" - it was more that most of them could easily be interpreted as either jesting or being offensive depending on the mood of the reader.

Look guys I really did not intend to get into an argument on this subject, honestly I didn't. All I was doing was pointing out what the Ospreys have done that the other regions clearly haven't. The Ospreys do take games around their region, they have dropped the town and city names, and they have put on a very good season ticket offer to entice the fans. I really do not care what the regions do to encompass the area's they are supposed to represent, I support all our regions and I do go and watch all four of them as much as I can, and I will admit that I do cherry pick my games, but if anyone can tell me what the other regions do more than what the Ospreys do then I will take it on board and discuss it.

But surely that's the best indicator of how seriously each region takes regionalism? That's worth a ton more than the dropping of a place name.

We could argue and get bitter about things like this forever, I just find it easier to go and watch rugby and support the "Welsh" side now, by this I mean any side playing in Wales, rather than go and support a particular region.

My daughters do any work around the house All my daughters do is fleece me at every attempt, and if I dare ask them to do anything there is blue murders in my house, just asking them to do anything takes about five tries until I get annoyed and start shouting. Then my wife will side with them and before I know it I am the big bad ogre Sometimes it's just easier to give them money to go and do coffee or shopping or what ever it is they do when I am not around and if I want anything done just do it myself.

Anyway, I could always just go into the other room and watch it, you know, on the multi room I am paying for my daughters to use but they never do use, but if a dare mention that I could get rid of it, we start our fisty cuffs again.
