"The 20 Premier League clubs have agreed to the imposition of new financial regulations which will come in to force from the start of the 2013-14 season. They will not be allowed to make a loss above £105m, aggregated across the 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 campaigns."
Huzzah some financial regulations finally!

Wonder what the penalties will be.
Anyway with rich owners and creative accountants nothing is likely to come of it unless there are caveats to the deal to prevent manipulation of the figures.

BBC Sport @BBCSport
Top-flight clubs will face a points deduction if they breach new spending rules, says Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore #EPL
Like you say Ent they may try and get around it, but I hope it is enforced properly. Football clubs need to start being run properly. Just look at Portsmouth now, we don't want that happening again.

£30 millio losses a year would be pretty huge though- doesn't the mega tv deal start next season?
Step in the right direction but I don't think it's gonna revolutionise things.

Anybody seen Lawro's prediction column this week?
He's up against Hulk Hogan. Hogan slightly OTT (potentially) on his chelsea prediction
Chelsea 40 Wigan 1

who needs PL when you get Championship games like that.
Our young welsh lad looks quality. Zaha put in a top performace an all and so did Phillips when he came on.. Cant believe we played so shocking first 25-- but good come back for palace. 2-2

Different league to anyone else on that pitch- everytime he got the ball it resulted in us winning possesion- he never ever loses it..(either from a pass a free kick ,throw in or corner)
different class in the champs..
But offcourse he is gone soon enough - so its a double edged sword for me!
But that welsh lad- very decent looking- very impressed.

Yes but its kind off like second prize- the playoffs are a lottery- I am expecting us to be in the champs next season..
We can play top football. i just dont understand why we cant start games off well.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
I've watched quite a bit of Zaha and he's very inconsistant, similar to Nani in many respects. Saw him at Wolves earlier in the season and he was outstanding but then you watch him tonight and on many other occasions and he's pretty much anonymous. He's not a prolific goalscorer that's for sure and I can't ever see him turning into the next Ronaldo. The media hype has clearly effected him because now teams target him and understand his ability and strengths. Secondly he's now signed for United, his head is probably elsewhere.
He's got talent and great potential, no doubt, but is he considerably better than the outgoing Nani this summer......not in my opinion.

John
well i am not sure what game you saw. BUt i was mighty imprssed with zahas perfomrance- it was very mature.. nothing to flashy but reatined possesion like no one else on the pitch..
Even holloway said it was as good as he has ever played under him!!
Sometimes these basics are unseen by some.. I dont understand why- but this is the reason why he is a 15m prem player i suppose..
I was so happy to see that his head wasnt elsewhere- i assumed it may have been. But a great perfomrance tonight

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
I think he's a great player, inconsistant but that's to be expected at that age. The media hype, Manchester United & England call up have all made him a target and that's why he's possibly been 'less effective' in recent weeks....totally understandable. He did play well tonight but I think many football fans are expecting something more from him in terms of goals and overall contribution in leading Palace up the table, especially when you see the fee that Palace are receiving. I'm not disagreeing with you, great potential and look forward to seeing even more of him next year. I just hope that he's given a good chance at United and not one game in three, where he is forced to overplay just to shine.

Well i saw the under 21 game and this game and tbh this style of play impresses me way more than that nani style of running down empty channels- which is maybe where he looks the best but not as overall effective..
he looks so much more settled in his play..

9 losses and 2 draws in 11 games. It's not looking good Freeky
As long as we don't lose tomorrow I will be happy. If we can win, well that would be swell. Just need to maintain the 7 point gap

I wouldn't say Bale has really lifted it. Kinda like younger Rooney hes a streaky player. When hes on hes very hard to slow down but hes capable of quiet periods also.

poor challenge from cabaye on dembele brings i believe the first booking of the game on 88 minutes. i dont think theres any malice in it, but its a poor one from the frenchman, 7 mins stoppage time, minimum.
bale denied a hatrick a couple of minutes before, by a good save from krul

and bale is denied again on 98 minutes, he thinks hes scored but his 20 yard shot is saved brilliantly by krul, this seconds after dawson brilliant blocks a newcastle attempt. what an end to the game this has been. the final whistle eventually is blown and spurs win again

I've been banging the Bale drum for 18 months. He's a human wrecking ball and would fetch at least 40 million quid if not more should he be sold. He'd walk into any side in the world.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
I said if we keep Bale quiet, we win. If we dont keep bale quiet, we lose. Spurs are an average side at best without Bale. Perch got injured, Pardew didn't react. I was screaming, get Cheick on.......30 seconds later Perch is limping around in midfield and doesnt even challenge and Bale goes on to score, shocking management. Then Pardew brings Cheick when the damage has been done. Disappointed. Really thought we could of got something today against a poor Spurs side, bar Bale.
Bale at Barcelona would be great to see, with Levy at the helm though will be difficult to see him leave for less than £35m
