What you would value Bale then John? 50 million?

Jesus we have scored 1 goal in our last 5 PL games. However we have picked up 4 points in that period. SOLID DEFENCE #CLEANSHEETSMEANATLEASTAPOINT

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
Thing is your talking about Daniel Levy's valuation which is going to be ridiculous as he's known to be a difficult negotiator. I would value Bale at around £35m. Willian just went to Anji for around £30m and he's an extremely good player, proven in the champions league and wanted by many of the top teams. Levy will not sell for anything less than £40m which means, ultimately, Bale going nowhere. It all depends on Spurs reaching the champions league, as to whether or not Bale stays. If they miss out and Barcelona or Man City come calling with bids of £30m and there rejected then I can see it becoming messy with agents and transfer request coming into play. Deals as big as this one, always end up messy and prolonged and Levy will make sure he's got the best deal out there before he agrees.
Without Bale, Spurs don't look anything like a top 4 side. Fact.

Whilst I agree with you john that bale is clearly world class I wouldn't say that without him sours aren't a top 4 team. With Holtby, Sandro, Dembele as a central three I would argue that they have one of the best midfields in the prem.
Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
A comment on the BBC sums up exactly the way I feel about Man City:
"Blackburn bought the title then fell away. City have bought the title and are now falling away. Not a massive story really.
City fans just remember your place."
Well said that man.

If we disregard all that united have spent as well, yeah.
I wouldn't discount a City revival next season.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
I reckon in the current PL Spurs are a couple of player short of a title winning team because no one else is miles ahead of everyone. "Back in the day" of the era of some of the greatest PL teams such as the Treble Team, The Invincibles, Jose's Chelsea and any Utd team with Ronaldo in it, Spurs would have no chance at the title but because the quality is very low compared to past seasons then I reckon they have a good chance if they make a few tweaks to the team. I don't think Spurs can compete with Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal for players on an equal footing so maybe that stops them from making the final step.
As for today's game, I will take a point. Everton are one of the few teams who I completely respect and I'm thinking that if Fellaini has "one of those games" they will win as Man Utd have no one who can stop him. Jelavic was a pain in the backside last year at OT but he has been off the pace this season so I wouldn't be surprised shouldAnichebe Victor get a game. Still, I think lessons have been learned, therefore I think Utd will sneak it by a goal.

I think that may be wishful thinking! I think Villa will win today, West Ham aren't great travellers...

Aston Villa team v West Ham: Guzan, Lowton, Vlaar, Clark, Baker, Westwood, Delph, N’Zogbia, Bowery, Weimann, Benteke. #SSN
If I'm West Ham I like the look of that team. Jordan Bowery starts. Yikes

West Ham's hoofball + Villa's inability to deal with set pieces? Hmmm. I know where my money is.

As for Man City, time to clear out a few, Dzeko hasn't ever settled really, Tevez continues to take professionalism and loyalty to new lows, Barry was very average when he could run.
I feel for Mancini. Tough job after last year

How can we feel for manchini.. He promised Tevez would never play for him again. He went back on his word and the team looks scitzophrenic..(excuse the misspelling!!)
And I hate the way he has tried to put the blame on Hart!!
With the team city have-- They should be scoring goals for fun..
He needs to get out.. He should never talk about his players to the press in the way he does

Hes being asked to make a madhouse into a broadway production. His biggest mistake was putting his faith in the wrong characters.
As for the Tevez thing, without Tevez they don't win the PL.

A manager cant rip shreads out of his players in the press.
He seems like one of those managers where there is no managmenet player seperation..- with no respect eitherway
He rows with them and they row with him ..
Not saying he isnt tactically decent. But no evidence suggests that he has the main strength needed to be a 'manager' and that offcourse is managing people!

How many chances did he give Balotelli, Tevez etc? His weakness is that he gives these ****heads too much leeway.

Hammers need to sharpen up their performance - don't want a repeat of the dismal effort away at against Sunderland a few weeks back.

OH ROBIN VAN PERSIE! OH ROBIN VAN PERSIE! OH MICHAEL VAN GERWEN! OH ROBIN VAN PERSIE!
Credit to Everton, they bossed the game for 20/25 minutes but never really created a clear cut chance. Man Utd have had 3 good chances and taken 2.
And Giggsy got his goal!!

United's soon to be 12 point lead will ensure that they can place a greater focus on the Champions League. Only a few days till United v Madrid = mouthwatering!

It'll be a high scoring game as both teams are great in attack and woeful at the back but I can't see Utd beating Madrid at all. Utd might be the better team but Madrid have the better players and no doubt Ozil will come back to bite Fergie.

Much needed win for Villa.
Very nervous even at 2-0. If Weimann had scored, could have relaxed.
Thank god the West Ham wall didnt jump up.

3 points and 12 clear, job done and a fairly easy win.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
and who goes down/stays up.
Lets f ing hope we do the latter.
Considering we have Arsenal away and Man City home next, was a massive win.
Then a small matter of a trip to Reading(which hopefully i'll be going to).

I loved this post on the BBC comments section.
Premier League Games: 651 v 608
Premier League Medals: 12 v 1
Community Shields: 8 v 4
FA Cups: 4 v 5
League Cups: 4 v 2
European Cups: 2 v 0
I'd love it if Utd won the FA Cup this season with Giggsy scoring the winner.

Looking back, City's goal yesterday was so good. It was a not-as-good version of the one they scored a few weeks ago where there were something like 5 touches from their own box to the opposition goal.

That was against us weren't it?! Kompany pinged it up to Aguero, who knocked it 40 yards to Silva edge of the box, who first time laid it off to Dzeko, who slotted home from 12 yards out first time. Scary good

So Liverpool still haven't beaten a top half team this season!
Last season they couldn't hardly beat a bottom half side!

Great to see Liverpool beaten. Utter scummy side that has Suarez thowing himself to the floor near enough every time. Football is the winner, well done West Brom. Hope Suarez does a Mario and fecks off.

Why are we a scummy side? Suarez has been booked less for diving than Bale, do you want to see Bale go elsewhere as well?

Whilst I can understand people's gripes with Suarez I think that the highlighted is an over the top reaction and rather provocative statement Duty.
Disappointed.

I'm not a big fan of Bale but Suarez seems to have perfected the art, probably does it in training. But it's not only the diving. Isn't Suarez a racist as well? Hasn't he bit an opponent before? Utter scumbag and shame on LFC for supporting him.
