Completely agree with you Mysti. He was calling out the owner who is responsible for the instability at the club and he is calling out the idiots with their banners who are calling for his head before he even got started instead of campaigning against the owners bizzare decisions......................

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
IMO he's a bit of a tool (hadn't noticed the red tie after the first game - bit childish but do wonder how many fans spotted it...) but think he's right this time, although he certainly shouldn't be spitting his dummy to the media.
Openly calling him interim (insert interrimming quip here) undermines him, his responsibility and his chances of achieving success as the players know he won't be around long. The fans should be behind the team rather than having a pop at Benitez, they do make a difference and should focus on lifting the team. Abramovich is the real reason they've become a bit of a joke but no-one will have a go at him.

Robbie was interim. He just got on with it.
Plus saying if you don't stop booing you'll be in the Europa League should be a stackable offense right away. Even if he didn't mean it in the way he'll set up the team to fail it's not something you say at any level.

The sacking of RDM and appointment of Rafa was a a complete mess from the beginning.
Rafa couldn't keep his cool any longer and tbh, I couldn't have either.

Did the fans make a point to abuse RDM from day 1? Did they chant for Mourinho for 6 months free he left?
I stick by my spoilt brats assessments of them. As much of a joke as the club are these days

You can't compare other managers and other clubs to this situation. Rafa was the wrong choice. The fans hate him and he hates Chelsea. He's just in it for a bit of Roman's money. If he had any dignity he would have walked out last night. It's ok for him to stand up for himself but he's still happy to sit and get paid.
This is why we hate him

He hasn't said anything that isn't true. A section of fans would rather boo and jeer the manager than support the team. Pathetic really.

Chelsea fans are spolit tools. Insignificant before Roman's billions, will revert to trend once they're gone.

Fully agree with these 2. I laugh when Chelsea 'fans' sing "we want our Chelsea back". What Chelsea? The mid-table, sometimes in Europe team, with a sh!te training ground?

No. We want the always top 6 qualify for Europe every year and win a few knockout cups Chelsea from 96-2003. I became a fan through family from birth. I grew up with Di Matteo, Vialli, Zola, Steve Clarke, Dennis Wise, Dan Petrescu and Graeme Le Saux. To me that's my Chelsea.
I love how everyone assumes we were some also rans/stragglers before Roman came along. We were a good club. I'd compare the 96-2003 Chelsea teams to how Everton have been in the last 7 years, except we won four trophies (7 if you count Charity Shield & Super Cup) in that period.
Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
So, you'd prefer to be a cup side than a title challenging one?

In fairness, Chelsea weren't a 'nothing club', that'd be Man City, but they were an also ran when it came to the title race. Consistent 5th-8th placers who'd have a good cup run as the highlight of their season.

In a way, yes. Nobody had anything to say about Chelsea until we broke up the Arsenal/United monopoly on the league title. Those years were just great because the when we won games felt better because we weren't expected to win as many games as we're expected to now.

Fair enough. Take this season away though, and you have had some great seasons and moments, ever since Roman arrived.

Many chelsea fans should be palace fans- therefore yes they are wrong uns.
But in all truth how were the liverpool fans or board any different in regards to hodgson etc.
And imagine this.
When fergy retires!!
and a new manager comes in.
Is he going to stay on for 20 plus years. Is he going to be forgiven for a few bad seasons!!
Id be pretty worried about that tbh!

Depends who it is. As long as it's not Guardiola or Mourinho, I'm happy. I'd take Klopp in all honesty.

Benitez and Chelsea was always a recipe for disaster. Surprised he's lasted this long, interim manager or not.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
Apparently he's said he has a "great relationship" with Roman. Every Chelsea manager's famous last words.
Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
I don't know why Chelsea fans are pleased about the looming possibility of Benitez being let go, Avram Grant is favourite to take over for the rest of the season.

Avram has been favourite a few times since he was sacked. I wouldn't take any notice. Plus I don't think Roman would make the same mistake twice in a season.

Oi! Ferreira has been very busy. He's spent the whole season getting ready for last nights game in Middlesbrough.
Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
I saw a link earlier in from the sun twitter account, that Gus Poyet has thrown his name into the Chelsea job.
Whilst Gus has done an incredible job on the south coast with the Albion, he built up some what of a legacy in such a short space of time in league one, by the style of "pretty football" Brighton play, which one the league one title on a limited budget and has consolidated us a decent championship side.
However for him to get one of the biggest jobs in the country, would be a bit to extreme IMO. He has no experience in the Premiership, and Gus's record of signing strikers isn't great and actually let Brighton's best striker since Zamora leave on a free transfer!
Personally i feel the other Gus should go to Chelsea, Hiddink.

Read an interesting piece on the London Standard website. Suggests Rafa out over the weekend, Avram in until May, then the grand return of Jose.
I would jizz in my pants if I saw any headline saying Jose Returns To Chelsea, or similar.

Mourinho isn't stupid, he won't be returning.
Why return when you will struggle to emulate a complete and utter fluke?
He will go to city or take Portugal for a few years then united.
Everyone else better worry when he takes the OT job.
Chelsea fans are hilarious tbh, pre abramovich they spunked cash at glamour players to play in london and won a few cups, post ambramovich they spunked even more cash at anyone willing and won a few leagues - now its all we want our chelsea back bla bla bla...

Please get Avram, please! Uncle Avram is a clueless Tinkywinky. That Chelsea side takes so little management, solid deep base with two holding players (one that has the license to step forward a touch more) to let the full backs roam. Rinse and repeat.
Rafa, Rafa, Rafa. The fans shouldnt hate me while im in charge, the way I'll let them know that is by antagonising them. Hes not been the same since Mourinho and Ferguson broke his mind.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
I don't give a monkey's if it was a fluke (not saying it was, defending that well takes some skill and discipline) nobody can take that night away from us. I went down to watch it in a bar on the Kings Road and hugged and danced with hundreds and hundreds of men I've never met and will never see or recognise ever again. Thousands and thousands of Chelsea fans filled the streets outside The Bridge and it was one of the most magical nights in my 22 years on this Earth.
If Roman gives in and offers it to Jose there's no way he turns it down. Just think, the man who you had a fall out with over Shevchenko wants you to come back and rescue the team and wrangle them into the side they were 7 years ago. Anyone would love it if the person that sacked them came crawling back saying we need you. IMO getting Jose or Hiddink back will be the best thing Roman can do this summer.

Hes a legend already, it depends what he wants to do - if he wants to go back to what he loves doing he might go back to chelsea, if he wants to more of a legend he will go with city/united and portugal in one order or another imo.
He was let down by the madrid players last year, they should have walked the CL and this may stop him going back to chelsea.
