iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S3

Fellow 606ers, The time has come for my contract renewel and the iPhone 5 & Samsung Galaxy S3 are the two front runners (though i have been told the Galaxy S4 is due out soon). I just want to know if anyone has either of these, and how they compare. I currently have an iPhone 4!

I used to have an iPhone 3GS but when my contract ran out I moved to a Samsung Galaxy S2. At that time Android supported Adobe Flash Player (mo longer the case) and with iPhone's they are heavily geared towards you using Apple software unlike Android phones. Also the camera on that iPhonew I had was pathetic (3mp and no flash) plus no replacable battery which when my battery failed and took it into an Apple store to have it fixed they aid they'd need to give me a brand new handset meaning all my data/music on my phone was lost. Sure I had the songs saved to my PC but when I tried putting them back onto my replacement phone iTunes wouldn't allow it and were wanting me to pay for around 500 songs all over again. Little things like that put me right off Apple plus how many people do you see with iPhone's with smashed screens - lots. Far better experience with my Samsing Galaxy S2 and will be replacing it with the S4 later this year. Also the apps are cheaper on Android plus you have a 15 minute window to cancel the purchase if it isn't what you expected (unlike Apple). Hope that helps.

Cheers Craig, sounds like a good start, im gearing towards the Samsung, mainly due to it being £20 a month cheaper!

i couldnt decide between the two, but i went for the galaxy S3, £36 a month, and its a very good phone, and i really like it.

S3 for me. Awesome phone, glad I swapped.

S3, very very glad I switched from my hated i4 (having previously loved my i3GS).

Techradar still has the S3 as the best phone on the market, even after the release of the i5, and after 4 years of Apple suffocation I can see why the freedom of a Samsung/Android phone is so special!

Awesome isnt it, easily the best phone i have had!

It really negates the need for my laptop now and battery life is excellent as well.
