Big pack to get ontop the Welsh front 5 and put them under the cosh at the Scrum and rucks with plenty of impact from the bench.
Scrummage for 80 minutes with strong scrummagers on the bench to come on if need
Steyn to test Welsh backs 3s position game with Kicks in behind with Habana and Cueto chasing with neither being on the small side.
Tonga/AAC to take the ball to the gain line and ask questions of the Welsh back line with Habana/Cueto/Payne coming into the line to cause problems
Croft to run our lineout whilst Taulava and Coatzee will look to smash rucks to slow down and Irish ball.
Jumpers from 4-8 in our pack giving Joe Grey plenty of targets with Etzebeth and Corft targeting the Welsh Lineout.
Wrigglesworth to control the tempo , feeding Morne Steyn the ball at the right times and using his own vision to snipe and put the ball in behind Welsh.
Blitz Defence to stop Irish backs playing with Wrigglesworth sweeping behind
Impact from the bench will see this game through Smit will keep things calm up front , Botha will come on and smash everything in front of him.

Tactics-
Awful weather this week, so keep it tight and use the consistent carrying of McCaw, Ryan, Botha, Buchanan and Matthews to make hard yards. The focus has got to be on the set piece, defence and breakdown, and we will utilise the kicking games of Stanley, Goode and Leonard+Dupuy on the bench to ensure we play in the right areas and use what should be a formidable lineout. If we do get the chance, we must make it count, so nothing to outrageous in the backs. McCaw to help Burns link and Burns feel free to run himself with the backrow in support if he sees a gap. Use Fitzpatrick as a bosh option with Tomkins supporting RL style and the wings ready to finish. When Brits comes on, send him at Patchell, before then Botha can do it occasionally.
Lineout- we have a ton of options in the lineout with a top class front (Botha) and middle (Ryan, also calls lineout) jumpers plus Matthews, Fraser and McCaw all viable options. Throw middle and short but get other options to peel off and run into the line to utilise them and make it impossible for Cardiff to mark. No long throws in this weather. Contest every defensive throw.
Breakdown- act as a unit, Fraser and McCaw to work the floor, Ryan and Botha to clear out, though Ryan can chip in if need be. Slow as much ball as possible without being penalised. Only go for the turnover if we can do damage with the ball or win a penalty, McCaw can make the calls here. If the ball is lost, Fraser to slow it whilst the other forwards guard our fringes hard.
Scrum- we should crush Cardiff here, with an excellent scrummaging 2nd string front row vs not one of the best scrummaging units around and grunt from the 2nd row.
Kicking- lots of air on the ball- 1/2p is an excellent but short fullback and we will chase to put him under pressure. Kick for the corners out of hand and for the posts whenever it's on. 3 points will be vital
Defence- McCaw to defend Stanley with Fraser really putting young Patchell under pressure all game. Blitz defence, Goode covering for the chip
Subs- bring Dupuy on in the last 20-30 to let him play with the team and tighten the game further. Brits can come on too, otherwise try to blood the youngsters but only if appropriate

Tactics: due to the poor weather conditions and injuries we've made some changes to our side. With injuries in the front row Herring and Ion come in. Simon Shaw comes into the second row as they're likely to be a few scrums in these conditions, and he adds grunt to the pack. James replaces Cooper at fly-half, a more controlling presence, and Tuilagi gets the nod over Strettle for his physical impact. We'll look to dominate territory as much as possible through James's tactical kicking, and mostly rely on our strong ball carriers in midfield (and the two wingers) to make advances with ball in hand.
- Try not to play too much rugby in our own half. James is an excellent tactical kicker and will look to keep the Warriors very much penned in their own half. Make the chase good, with the back row swamping the breakdown whenever possible to force turnovers.
- Plenty of line-out options, both for our own throw and to attack the opposition's. Think about the rolling maul when possible.
- With ball in hand, look to use the big ball-carriers. Our centres are both strong and will look to make yard gains, while Tuilagi has licence to come off his wing and look for work through the middle. Target Carter at IC, a position he's not so used to defending at.
- Use the strong ball carriers in our pack - Shaw, Ion, Herring, Harinordoquy - to make the hard yards around the fringes. Don't be afraid to go pick-and-go if nothing is on.
- If we do create the overlap, be prepared to spin the ball wide.
- Play a rush defense, looking to swamp the moves before they get going, and not give the opposition time to place their attacks. Always have at least a couple of players back to field kicks.

Do you think Exeter really would have put out that team for the LV? Surely it's a 30-0 walkover if no teamsheet?

Re: LV= Cup Round 3
Bath 18 - 16 Exeter Chiefs
1-10 Chiefs have more ability going forward, but this quite a few games in a row for some boys and tired legs will take affect, allowing a solid bath pack into the game. And with a big bench coming on later in the game for Bath, I can see them nicking at the death with a Vesty penalty.
Northampton Saints 22 - 29 Gloucester
Up front between these two is very close, I'd possibly edge towards Saints taking the lineout, but Glos being more present at the breakdown. Out wide Glos really are a class above and with that dangerous back three can see them running in a few tries. Lamb will spark some moments of magic, but with the strong Glos bench to come on, its a big win for the Cherry and Whites.
Sale Sharks 32 - 12 Llanelli Scarlets
Too much up front from Sharks, as they will dominate and allow Cruden to pull the strings in midfield. Scarlets have some talented backs, but they will be going backwards all day.
Leicester Tigers 19 - 24 London Wasps
Tigers have out a talented pack, but I can see them being dominated by the wasps pack a bit. Tigers have a good lineout, but will suffer elsewhere for me. Outwide Wasps have again picked a strong backline and will get some good scores here to win against one of the form teams in the league.
Saracens 26 - 17 Cardiff Blues
The experience from the Saracens pack will over-raw the Blues side and will give them a strong foothold in the game. Some good players for the Blues, but Sarries will have too much at home here.
London Irish 23 - 21 Worcester Warriors
Top very even packs, I like the backrow contest as they both have good fetchers and carriers. Both backlines are full of talent, but I can't seperate either side too well. I think in the end B James will just perhaps control the game better than Beale at FH, and will kick a winning penalty at the death
1-10 Chiefs have more ability going forward, but this quite a few games in a row for some boys and tired legs will take affect, allowing a solid bath pack into the game. And with a big bench coming on later in the game for Bath, I can see them nicking at the death with a Vesty penalty.

I'm using the one from last week like Pooly said! If the decision is to walk over because there was no sheet, that's fine

Northampton Saints 19 Gloucester 24
Glaws better in the pack with more stardust in Jones and Whitelock and Narraway playing well in the real world. Half backs a Glaws at 10 and Saints at 9. Rob Horne not great but miles ahead of Armstrong who is a wing/fullback? Trinder clarke draw. Back 3 to glaws and bench to Glaws with Cane and Roberts making impact.

Harlequins 19-12 Welsh
Quins have took this seriously and get a big upperhand in the pack from the off. Stronger backline also see's Quins ease through in the cold conditions.
Bath 13-18 Exeter
Rudderless Exeter lose a bit of rating but their pack in genreral is star studded and hefty. I like the Bath engine room but front row would take a hammering. Exeter backs just a bit more class and will see home.
Saints 15-17 Gloucester
Good affair up front but Gloucester edge with a bit more quality. Similar story in the backline with Gloucester just having a bit more throughout and a bit more finishing power. Horne more a 13 for me Prop going forward.
Sale 27-10 Scarlets
Saracens 25-11 Cardiff
Irish 22-21 Worcester
Tightest game of the round. Packs are quite well matched with a little shade to the home side despite Kaino really struggling for rating. I like the Irish backline and see Worcester are trying a few things out which will help them in later games. Just a bit too much for the home side.

Re: LV= Cup Round 3
Bath 15 - Chiefs 12 - as there is no chiefs manager, can't really give them a win, but I'll give feedback anyway:
Frontrow- clearly goes to Chiefs, though they are very vulnerable at Hooker so it won't be as one sided as the presence of Afoa etc implies especially as Catt is a talented prop. Second row would go to Chiefs too but also a strong duo from Bath which I see working well together. Don't know much about Skuse at 6, but Cook/Barkley is a good 9-10 duo, tyro Cook looks a prospect. Not convinced by Bath centres but excellent back 3 at this level, Daly comfortable at FB as well as in the centres and a good experienced bench. Player for player Chiefs would win but with no management, Bath win at home

Quins 25 - Welsh 13
Quins have home advantage and tactics to start. Front row, scrum and lineout all go to nearly full strength Quins pack and I think they nick the breakdown too. Overall a more powerful pack. Quins also have a slight advantage across the backs, with a lethal back 3. All in all, Quins win comfortably with a very strong 15.

Leicester Tigers 12 London Wasps 13
Pack goes to Wasps at the scrum with Tigers having bags of talent but in the 5 experience counts for a lot and Wasps have loads of it. Similer story in the back row but for me Cronje shades Waldrom. Half backs are tough with Care ahead of Dickson and Goppereth same as Cips but Cips can open a game open. Goppereth will nail his goals which is everything away to Tigers. Wasps can be got at as there backs look all over the ship with 12T at 13 and Brown on wing and Haughton at full back. Wasps have enough up top to sneak the win.

London Irish 24 Worcester Warriors 17
More balance from the irish side for me with Carter and Nonu in odd positions for me. Bringing Shawsy in for poor conditions is a clever move from Chelsea. Simpson will struggle to make as much as a impact as usual but James is top top form. Wuss back row keep this tight but Irish bank with Kennedy and play the field better knowing they have solid lineout options.

Harlequins 24-18 Welsh
Much stronger from Quins with the Welsh front 5 struggling here against top opposition.
Bath 15-18 Exeter
With their backs a step up but think the Bath 4-8 will battle well.
Sale 25-15 Scarlets
Sale's front 5 will provide great ball, Scarlets no shirkers out wide.
Tigers 15-16 Wasps
Wasps starting backs have better quality, Tigers pull it back with their bench.
Saracens 28-14 Cardiff
Pack wins it for Sarries.
Irish 23-21 Worcester
Good tactics from Chelsea and think that Shaw will love this match. Not a clue who Dacres is, evens in the front row but Irish better in 2nd row. Carter-Nonu out of position hurts Warriors and think Irish just have enough.

Saints 18 - 21 Gloucester
Evens in the front row but an advantage to Gloucester in the second row. Reckon Gloucester edge the scrum and the lineout. Also Gloucester edge the backrow, though Qera must be a little tired about now. Gloucester win the HBs even though Burns has played a lot (he's a FH, they shouldn't get tired). Evens in the centres but a slight edge to Glaws in the back 3, though Saints' is quite young and has attacking threats, and evens on the bench. The fog means the forwards come more into it and that makes it closer. Gloucester stronger throughout and win away.

Re: LV= Cup Round 3
Sale 23- Scarlets 18
Sale would be tired with this team but still too much up front and they grab the win
Tigers 14 - Wasps 18
Tigers front row very promising but inexperienced and with Stevens finding form there is an advantage to Wasps here. Tigers just about edge the lineout though in the loose the 2nd rows are even. Back rows are both raw at 6 but even all in all, advantage to Tigers at the breakdown. I think Gopperth is a better bet at 10 than Cips in the mist, plus Care > Dickson in any weather. Wasps centres better. Tigers' back 3 better (though Brown is the standout) so this is a close match but Gopperth kicks Wasps to victory
Irish 21- Wuss 18
Game for forwards, this (like most of the matches this week). Worcester get the nudge in the scrums, Irish will win the lineouts and JUST the breakdowns. Lots of carrying in both backrows but Worcester take that (Kaino form hard to assess). I'd rather Perry than Simpson in the rain but also rather James than Beale. Neither centres will get to show much skill, but both have a bosher who might be useful, as will Carter's kicking. Catching is the main aim of the back 3, so both equal. Even benches, Irish win on home advantage

Ok, if that's the case, surely we should use the last LV cup line up, not the full strength Prem lineup? Think it's a bit of a mis match!

I dont think so. Pooly got caught missing a teamsheet and had to have a LV cup team line up in the league. Its just the way its happened this time. P.s. I was against putting teamsheets in for those who missed when we discussed it at the start of the season for this very reason
