It's OK, you have Rhys Webb and there are three quality scrum halves at the Scarlets, you should be able to pick one of them up.

We have Habberfield in the wings.

Shame to see the lad go, really started to prove a good player over the last few months.

He was a seriously good player for the Crusaders too - had he not given up on ABs selection a few years back and opted for Samoa he'd have made the NZ RWC 2011 squad

I think in his 1st season at the Ospreys he was suffering from not having an off season break.

They could bring in Ricky Januarie on a loan deal if he's available and eligible (this time).

Good signing for Saints. Offers something very different to Dickson. Although, with a both a rolling fly half, and now what I presume will be rolling scrum half options, will they ever get any fluidity?

Think they were always going to struggle to keep hold of him financially speaking if a bigger offer came in.

Does anyone actually know how the transfer system works, is there a fee as in football does the club/region get any financial benefit for selling him so to speak.

Or if he's out of contract I take it he's a free agent

I'm very very surprised he hasn't signed for Toulouse if he was to leave the Ospreys, they were very keen on him after impressive performance against them and France. Can you imagine him with McAlister at 10??

Roberts to Ospreys is a very very good deal IMHO!!!

Roberts has been very good at Saints this year and he and Dickson have almost shared gametime equally!

IMHO Roberts should be in the welsh squad now!!

Kahn is a huge loss though, and highlights the state of affairs in welsh rugby, quality NWQ players will sign for us every now and then for a season in the shop window then move up to England/France

I get the impression the Ospreys didn't try and keep hold of Kahn. So well done for not holding onto your best players and captain, because Webb is so amazing and ready to step up mind.

Roberts? No I doubt it. Phillips and Owen didn't get any on boxing day. Webb seriously has to get his sh censored t in order now or maybe they'll get Roberts or start with Habberfield. chin

No they haven't. Saints have a good website and they have the actual time played. Dickson has 1177 minutes this season in 18 games. Roberts has 483 in 16 games. Roberts has only started 5 games and is very much an end of game sub. In most games I've seen he 's been pretty poor.

I for one will not miss him, I cannot for the life of me see what people are raving about when it comes to Fotuali'i. Last weekend I saw him hand the game to Treviso with his continous box kicking, and he does this every game, he shows the odd bit of brilliance but for the most part he is just kick, kick, kick. I will be watching Rhys Webb's improvement with a lot of interest, he will now get a lot more game time and perhaps Tom Habberfield will now get the chance to play in the scrum half position and blossom.

Well, I'm not surprised he's leaving. There was talk of him not staying with the Ospreys. I did think he'd do a bunk to France along with everyone else though. Good signing for the Saints. It's a shame I don't see much of the English Premiership, I'd like to know how he gets on. Best of luck to him.

As a Saints suporter, I think its a good signing, but doesn't really address the critical need, which is out half and inside centre. Will make a killer combination with Dickson. But still not the critical need.

There are far too many good young english players coming through at these aviva teams at the moment for my liking.

The sooner we flood that league with dodgy welsh players and other foreign talent the better I say.

I see that tom james has gone to exeter also. Things are looking up.

I wonder if the Ispreys will limit Khans appearances now that he is leaving. They did that before with Phillips.

It's about time we had a scrum half from our academy leading te first team. We have bought in without exception. Some good players but we have let our fledglings go.

I want to see Habberfield and Webb fighting for the shirt.

To be honest I think there are going to be a few players moving around the regions this season. I believe tht Gareth Davies, and Tavis Knoyle are both out of contract with the Scarlets in the Summer, and I can't see either of them wanting to stay and play second fiddle to the other, so I would assume one of them would be going. And as others have said Roberts has had his two seasons with the saints now, so he will most likely be looking to return and build on his international caps. And Dwayne Peel is meant to be looking to be coming home at the end of the season too. SO it could well be a welsh international scrum half at each of the regions (if the WRU and this new talk-shop get their acts in gear).

I think Tavis Knoyle is from the Ospreys region, and could be there next season battling it out with Webb, Habberfield and others.

In terms of scrum-halves, I think the Scarlets have vast strength in depth with Gareth Davies, Aled Davies, Rhodri Williams and others.

I see Tavis Knoyle leaving, I don't know to where, but I don't think any replacement will be needed with the 3 above scrum halves in the Scarlets' book.

Even if both Tavis Knoyle and Gareth Davies leave, I don't think that would have a negative affect on the Scarlets.

It would have a great effect on the Scarlets if the poor man's Mike Phillips left. I think Blues will definitely be on the look out for one of these scrum halves. Most likely Martin Roberts. Neither of the other would go somewhere to play second fiddle to, ahem, Lloyd Williams.
