A huge apology to Welsh 606 ers.
Ive come to the conclusion that I am quickly becoming the crazy guy on the corner of the street holding cardboard signs prophesising the demise of the world (game in Wales)
I am starting to get sick of hearing myself whinge, moan and begrudge anyone of any success, so if I'm sick of it you lot must have been suffering for ages!!
I am not a pesimistic person in general, and was never a whinger as a fan for years (even within regionalism), I attended numerous age grade games and was particularly excited about certain players coming through.
I was an avid fan and follower of the Blues (went to all sorts of league/academy/HC games home and away) and was at Newcastle, Wasps and the Amlin final in that run, not too mention the semi heartbreak at the MS.
Unfortunately for the last few seasons and as I get to know more and more about the game, structure, people and organisations I have become more and more... well blue!! There are few people I have come across who genuinely impress, and it seems to be getting fewer by the season. I am constantly seeing issues and problems within the game that just have no need to be there, and could and shouldve been avoided by just a touch of common sense.
Greed has taken over what once was the game I lived and died for, and I find myself increasingly avoiding the game on all levels where anything but love of the game is involved (the younger the player the more the joy IMHO)
Last weekend I avoided every second of Welsh rugby, and I have made no plans for the first 6N game (yet), I have turned down tickets because the crowd anger me, refused offers to go near the city centre, and am seriously considering getting in my car and crossing the bridge to a venue in Bristol and climbing the cliff face so I don't think about it for a second.
At nearing the age of 30 I have become a grumbling 75 yr old man who has developed a chip regarding anything the WRU or anyone welsh does!
Don't get me wrong, my passion for the game is as hot as ever, but maybe someone elses game.
I once ridiculed my Aunt who for 28 years and counting hasnt been able to watch a live game, due to her nerves, anger, and distain for where the game has gone, but I am starting to feel her pain.
I just want to take this opportunity to apologise to anyone I've offended, caused a tiny bit of doubt in their optimism, or for just being a miserable old twitbag!!

The first step is admititng you have a problem ....
In other news. Enjoy it for what it is, if you can't, step back for a while Blues. Don't worry about those things you can't influence.
The best competition in the NH is about to start. Sit back with a few beers and enjoy the ride. Although i have been known to rant as well, go have a few jars with the opposition. Strangley that always reminds me why i love this game.

Bluesman, I'm thinking of starting a support group. You, your aunt, and anyone else in similar frame of mind, would be made most welcome.

First step is admiring you have a problem.
Second step is dealing with it.
Much better rock faces to climb in Wales than Bristol.

Cardiff are back home at The Arms Park and are strengthening their squad for next season by the look of it. What's there to moan about?

I know your pain Bluesman. I share many of the sentiments that you've wrote about here. Particularly the avoiding going to Wales games because of the crowd. But this season I got a friend who has never been to a rugby game to start going to Blues games and his enthusiasm has rubbed off on me and has made me less cynical and able to take the game with a pinch of salt. Big test will be Wales v Ireland, the first 6 Nations game I’ve been to in 3 years.

Bluesman I totally know where you're coming from. For me it's not just Welsh rugby it's the whole game. I think it had lost it's soul a bit and there is too much money involved now. I find the modern game relatively dull to watchnow that defence is king and players are behemoths. I haven't watched any hec at all.
The only saving grace is going to watch my local club and I can't do that because the pitches are white. Rubbish
Thank good for Andy Murray it I might think I was on the turn.

Bluesman - I hope you've got BBC 1 on right now...if not, tune in and remind yourself why you love being a Welsh supporter.

Blindly people, he's not admitted alcoholism or a serious drug habit! Bluesman....just think of it as a bit of a slump. At least the national team have had relative success over the past few years. Chin up mate. A few years ago the following statement would of really wound me up but now, a bit older and mellower, it truly is....just a game.

Besides that having a non emotional attachment to any of the teams ,along with the higher standard of rugby it is quite refreshingPeter Seabiscuit Wheeler wrote:True view, can't remember a Welsh side losing in that

Don't worry Bluesman, tomorrow morning the sun will come up, you'll have a hearty breakfast and ask a mod to delete your thread.
